So “new water” was introduced without any changes, despite of warnings that it will make immersion and game picture even worse than before. Current matchmaking settings create only 5 types of weather(where 80% of it Thin clouds, Cloudy and Partly clouds which almost indistinguishable from each other) and only matches from 9:00 to 17:00 “time of the day” setting(where 80% of it is 11:00 to 13:00 which not a big of a difference for the game picture)(btw. “clear sky” preset not even one of them). So now we have this:
Now in matches this all look like this, any map now look the same and not “dramatic” as was advertised, but “phlegmatic” nor “clearly distinguish” but opposite(cause there is no difference in currently playing weather and “time of the day” setups) as i could tell(and this is all with “contrast” posteffect setting, without it I’m gaining even more “grimdark” show, when any other game ain’t offering me such bleak picture) :
While before patch all weather settings looked way more different from each other(cause of big difference in clouds on all weather presets, global illumination and initial gamma) and picture was way colorful and lively, despite that fact that only small portion of weather setups played(and you could see most of them only in test sail, btw there was “blight” preset but it never played).
How do you feel about “new weather”, as for me I’m strait forward don’t like what we got
I like it.
I don’t like it.

Ps. our game can look way immersive and colorful, it already has different weather setups and day/time presets i don’t understand why they are not used in game matches, what so hard to tweak matchmaker to create not 5 types of weather but all 12 of them and bring back diversity of their settings and spread them evenly and plus to that create matches on all “time of the day” settings including sunsets, sunrises, evenings and mornings and even night battles, in clear sky and in storm weather - that’s where immersion is.
The problem isn’t the weather, but the terrible lighting and the color correction, which is disgustingly monotonous in its grays. But yes, I don’t like it. To the point where I’m thinking of abandoning this game mode.
Of course it’s a complex thing not just “weather” itself, but picture what game offer to us, with it, now even sun blinds like hell on top of the haze and bleak atmosphere in every game match.
It’s not about the water itself, but on overall reducing diversity of visuals in naval battles with this changes. Game can look way better without faded color correction, blinding sun and weather presets that not distinct from each other.
When you got some “bad weather” from time to time it is fun, when you got it 100% of time on any map it’s not fun.
I don’t think that Fuego Island should look like this all the time
