It seems like you did lol.
No they aren’t as voters aren’t random and the poll itself lacks the voting option for an entire group of people.

Edit: By open I meant you can cross reference every single vote with statshark & look up recent battles using the forum. Using this method you can easily vet votes and toss any vote made by bots/alt accounts.
You seem to intentionally misinterpreting me.
As I said earlier…
Not my fault the poll was awfully made. Even the literal name of the thread is biased lol.
Also not my fault you placed all of your eggs in such a scuffed, biased basket.
Ok then, if you were managing polls, what would you have done to improve them?
You have played three battles in the last week. You literally spend more time arguing in the forum than you do playing the game.
Remove the highly biased thread name.
Remove the wall of text that’s supporting one voting option.
Add an option for indifferent people.
At this point it’s more of a petition than a poll.
Even with all of the above taken care of, voters still wouldn’t be truly random which defeats the purpose of polls.
Okay ?
Doesn’t change anything I’ve said.
Some valid points but you are forgetting truly random polls don’t actually exist.
My points are still valid as well.
You are more invested in arguing on the forum than playing the game.
Random polls in WT definitely don’t exist because players don’t have enough power to make them truly random. Gaijin can make in-game polls that are truly random, as they’d be able to reach all players equally, without resorting to forums that are known to attract people that’ll moan about things and thus skew the result in the process.
Indifferent people don’t seek forum threads to express their indifference.
In this moment yes as I’m taking the break from playing for multiple reasons.
My points still stand though.
I’ll keep that in mind for next time. I don’t think I can just leave the wall of text out because people also need context for why this poll exists before making an informed decision, but I guess I could have made it more neutral than what it is now.
Unless Gaijin takes the polls with a neutral tone and broadcasts them in the game, nothing is truly a random sampling without flaws in this forum.
Yeah, which is why these things shouldn’t really be taken as polls where vote % is taken at face value for the community as a whole.
If I was making something similar I’d just “market” it as a petition, collecting “signatures” and then going with those numbers to Gaijin, demanding they add something a fair bit of people is interested in.
I’m fine with your intention of trying to add something into the game, I’m mostly indifferent on this topic but I voted Yes.
The execution of the thread and the poll wasn’t good in my opinion, but I engaged mostly because people started claiming that vast majority of the community as a whole really wants TT F-14 to happen, citing this thread as their only source.
Good luck.
As do mine.
I joined the forum to talk about my interest in Warthunder. Not to argue/debate.
I am going to engage less with negativity and focus more on the positive things. Like new vehicles and bug fixes.
That’s all good, but sometimes negative things cannot just be ignored.
It bothers me a bit that you are indifferent on the topic but arguing with people who really want it.
Arguing makes even less sense now.
Let’s say 30% of all citizens vote in a general election.
A. That’s not random, there are factors at play.
B. The elected official never speaks for the majority of the citizens.
I’m going to need to try harder to be positive lol.
They can be ignored when it’s a video game lol.
This isn’t life or death.
I’m not arguing on the topic itself, I’m arguing how some people are using bad data to claim something.
I can be indifferent to the F-14D saga, but that doesn’t stop me from pointing out people’s claims in which they cite a poll with incorrect data.
Flawed data and incorrect data are not the same thing. You can still find use in flawed data. You can cross check it with others sources to make the data set usable. Where as incorrect data has no real use.
The poll isn’t incorrect. Flawed maybe, but not incorrect.
