I would argue this is a playerbase problem and not an aircraft problem though. Too many players view it as it must be the most hyper-meta fighter or it’s junk, which may be true in ARB, but does not carry over into Sim EC. Even a junk fighter that can destroy 2 bases in a single sortie and keep it’s A2A load is competitive. Heck prior to the SDBs the Su-25T/Su-39 was the best aircraft even in 13.7 for whiping ground battles.
The problem is was the playerbase, or lack thereof, not the aircraft capabilities.
The game mode is structured as a competitive game mode. It is only logical that players would want to be competitive in it.
People are not going to volunteer to be perpetual cannon fodder for F-15Cs in a plane that has next to no comparable capabilities. And they are not going to do it especially when they are outnumbered 4:1 and getting missile warnings as soon as they takeoff.
Even when players say that they don’t mind playing the underdog in the game…you will see that the percent of time they play the underdog plane vs meta plane is going to favor the meta plane the vast majority of the time.
Which requires weaponry you might not even have available to you. How would an F-4EJ player, for example, going to attack a convoy with the pre-Thai-subtree japan jet tree? You simply aren’t.
Your impact in the tickets is reduced to intercepting surveillance planes and AI attacker/bomber groups.
Because your team actually sticks around and exists.
No more “There are no active players on the enemy team” and no bored enemy team going into full PvE mode, which is still very much a thing below top tier.
Which is why you play with what you have and ICE isn’t a whole lot.
No one said you’ll get 100% WR (US WR in top and subtop tier just shows a piss poor game design, not US’ players skill), but your WR will increase, depending mainly on a combo of you and your kit. The better the kid, the better you (and not only you) perform. You can win a 14.0 EC in Tornado IDS (11.7), if your fighters can contain enemy’s giving you the space to work and the WR, you guessed it, goes up.
The problem is that maps in EC are so small that short range, highly agile fighters reign, so it’s difficult to develop any kinda tactics circumventing them and that’s the problem, so on par attacker isn’t a prerequisite, but an on par fighter most definitely is.
Well they don’t need it anymore, a typhoon is better than any F-16 they could possibly receive and will only get better in the future, whereas most subtrees germany gets will be using F-16AM/MLUs instead of Cs making them practically worthless if added like an OCU (which is awful compared to japan’s current top jet)
You could say this is due to new vehicles being competitive but I only find that to be relevant at tippy top tier. Go to say, 11.7 and many nations with amazing fighters will still see teams of nothing but attackers or otherwise bomb-laden aircraft. They tend to leave pretty fast once the enemy team puts up a fight, leaving you in a 1vMany situation.
11.7 is going to be infested with grinders because of the event and because of Rank VI/Rank VII premiums. That is an entirely different issue than one side just not having any viable aircraft to pick for the matchmaker.
Loadouts are irrelevant. They would simply add loadout options appropriate for the current game. Which is why Typhoon doesnt have ASRAAM/IRIS-T or Aim-120C5s. Why the Rafale doesnt have MICA IR, etc etc.
Isn’t the Sniper targeting pod more advanced/better than the lightning pod/the variants of it that we have in-game? Besides it’s pretty depressing from my perspective that the pride of my nations air-force, it’s most advanced fighter be used as a simple gap filler in-game to have a better aircraft.
Litening 3/5 tpod currently found on the Typhoons in game is pretty advanced and new already, but if Sniper Tpod was so significantly better than that, Id imagine they would just give it the next best tpod it could be given, I imagine the F-16 could be fitted with any. (looking at the Harrier Gr7 stuck with the TIALD instead of the sniper tpod)
and I would agree. Poland should not be a sub-TT for Germany, would make a way better stand alone nation that could also house many other WARSAW pact nations vehicles.
germany a special case as they where occupied so it makes sense to add east and west german stuff if your speaking about mig 29s and F4F ice germany didnt make many domestic things at this period because of occupation
