Imo actual number editor as a single sticker would be fantastic (it might lead to some… issues (as with any time anyone gives players any agency), but I rather have this and be able to give my tanks (and planes) proper numbers and them be nicely mirrored without reserving to use the likes if “44” and “101” (plus it takes more sticker slots and even with prem it not enough))

THIS! It’d be so awesome and I doubt it’s hard to make! I appreciate the current single numbers we’ve got for each nation but they should go further. War Thunder’s customization system needs a rework.

They were removed because players started using them to create the Z emblem from an ongoing war, and they didn’t want an influx of new players to flood the game and use the symbol, hence them removed them from new players to avoid them being used for political reasons (at least that’s how I understood their explanation, although the Z emblem being the reason was not specified and they just said it was because of several laws that were passed in multiple countries.
But that’s just how I perceived it, I could be completely wrong about the actual reason but I remember reading something about it and that was my takeaway.
I feel like making everyone pay for this was a very bad decision by the company. You still see quite a lot Z O V markings, Russian and Ukranian flags (which was the reason why flags cost GE btw), and in general quite a lot of political stuff.
The truth is I don’t know how they can combat this.
Well, the flags aren’t the same, as they are used for all kinds of reasons, but honestly they could have just changed the #1 decal to be unusable for the purpose

Maybe , idk actually banning people who trying to bring politic into the game and griefing just because other player have a mark on their tank that you didn’t like ? Yeah , why not that ?
Number and letter should be in the game , politic in real life does not play a part in deciding should they be in the game or not. Even if people trying to tk or griefing their teammate over it , they should be ban

Some numbers like ‘88’ ‘69’ and so on…those crap that 10 year old players put on thinking it’s funny. IMO, Ima take a break from WT and play CTS for now…

I mean i understand but you know , they put whatever they want. It is the player freedom after all but I don’t think that the reason why gaijin gatekeep the number and letter decal

Letters–we shouldn’t keep (the Z) and IMO the numbers were OK IG :>
they were using the numbers to make the Z symbol, saw someone with it the other day actually, I reported them for it, too (I think, cant remember if I did or not but I think I did)
I mean if we didn’t keep it , then the goal of “Not bringing politic in” would pretty much be pointless. Removing any letter because of real world event and some player belief is cringe when considering Gaijin themself really does not like to be affiliate with any of those thing. That is one of the many reason why we are not getting number and letter back. Simply because people can’t figure out how to disable other player decal or just ignore them

May be the reason, however they fixed nothing (classic Gaijin). Old players can still make those signs because access to the decals wasn’t restricted to them, only to new accounts which makes zero sense. Even if they banned it from everyone, I think it’s just stupid. Why restrict everyone for actions of individuals? You can get banned for things you say in chat, for TK etc. so why not make it on the same principle? Maybe adding another category to the player report called “explicit decal art” would be nice. Anyway if WT is okay with decals of literal porn stars being used in game, why are they so strict with symbols that do not even hold any ideological meaning. It’s literally just s letter Z, O, V. Believe it or not, letters and numbers are used in the military, and since WT is a military game, things like this should be expected. And I mean there is nothing wrong with them anyway. You can literally play as Axis powers which had done horrible things in the war yet you can use markings of various SS divisions in WT. But players get offended by letters, crazy.
I feel like fighting against politics is just plain stupid in war games. Politics are influencing every part of our life like it or not. There will always be a bit of it in everything. And war is mainly about politics. Since WT is a war game with modern vehicles used in current wars (which they swore they would never add), things like this should be expected. By banning nice little features like number decals, Gaijin is stripping the game of it’s added value (and sadly only little of it is left now with the removals of historical campaigns, world war mode, aim predominantly at top tier copy paste premium vehicles), it only restricts people (like me) who geniunely want to use the decals for normal purposes. People who want to start political beefs with other players will find other ways how to do it (simply write it to chat). So Gaijin should not aim to fight against political references but rather at their actions that are generally harmful (teamkilling, hate speech etc.) even if they are not necessarily political.
Please, if you quote me (or anybody else), do actually quote correctly, and don’t mix up answers and responses.
