Helis would just be food for all the jets ignoring ground targets and focusing on air kills.
I like the idea but dont have much hope.

Ehhhh, not necessarily. Most good Helis have very good HIRSS for passive IR reduction, and some have IRCCM pods. Furthermore, not only do they carry a LOT of chaff, but if they are not moving fast they become very very hard for Pulse Doppler radars to lock onto.
Especially a hovering heli sitting just outside of SPAA range picking them off 😄
I would love to see Helis added, even if they are not extremely effective, I would love to use them for SEAD work.
Yeah, it shouldn’t work like that. IRL helis are monsters on the battlefield. The Devs can and should continue working on the mechanics to make helis viable in future modes like this

It’s a known bug with that airfield.
Balance is still terrible, MiG 23 claps the F-4E, F-4S dominates but that is a pay to win metric.
HAWK is not the Equal to the BUK and Gaijin you are on crack if you think that.
F-4E essentially cannot use half of it’s A2A ordinance because the Radar is so poor.
Also let players create custom load outs, you are punishing the players who dont have a top tier US/Russian aircraft.
Just tweak it.
I just wish you could bring the su27, mig29 just is so limited, f14 is probably my favorite thing to play, getting high and fast and slinging aim54s is fun
They removed the IRAF F-14 so unless you have a high tier US or USSR aircraft you are stuck with the presets.
I don’t understand why Gaijin keep getting it wrong, a game about ground attack and SEAD no points for doing SEAD…Shoot down a jet though and you get more points.
Players are not even playing the objectives and instead killing Jets jumping in the B-52 and bombing the target…Despite the S-300 still being active and the BUK systems???
Eliminating the SAMS to allow the B-52 to finish would be great but Gaijin doesn’t care about that.
Actually making what the ground vehicles do matter would also be good, we won the last game the top guy had 15 air kills they had pushed us right back but we still won…
Airfields being bombed…No siren, no warning maybe show on the map and not suggest the base as a respawn
Imagine a 128-player (or even 64-player) version of this mode! You’d have fighter jets screaming overhead, helicopters, and ground units all working together, with every vehicle class having a dedicated mission. Anti-air would lock down the skies against enemy fighters, troop carriers would drop off and back up the infantry, and tanks would clash with enemy armor. Picture entire tank battalions rolling in to take capture points while jets dogfight above them. This could be massive chance to see real combined arms gameplay on a scale we’ve never seen before.
Mixed like GRB I hope, I hate flying as the US in ARB only to fight other US aircraft. Maybe make it NATO vs Warsaw Pact, it’d fit this new gamemode than that mish mash of regualr RB matches.
I see great promise in this event, given the devs already confirming it will appear again in the future as the new “Aerial Warfare” mode, or as the basis for it. However, there are several key factors that need to be addressed.
1. Ditch the red enemy markers, at least on aircraft. Every other Realistic game mode has no red enemy markers - it has been overdue for over a decade for RB Air to be updated to join them. It is unnecessarily difficult to fly a ground attack plane when the act of passing by an enemy team AI bot plane lights up your marker for their entire team, after which someone will go “monke SEE free kill - neuron activation.” The red markers should be kept for the ground units, bombing points, airfields, etc. for now.
2. Tone down the overbearing SAMs and SPAA-ability of the ground units to match what Air RB currently has. The AI ground units should punish loitering over the battle area when AA/SAMs are still present - not be able to instantly punish pop-up and run “Wild Weasel” style attacks. The SAMs also need to have actual reload times and ammunition limits, not the arcadified auto-reload of runway defense SAMs.
3. Make lower-BR versions of this without nukes, all the way down to reserve tier props. Not everyone likes or has jets available. Also, the Classic Air AI units should be mixed in with the Player-Grade AI units.
4. Make the map “wider” but keep the airfields all clustered in the “rear-center” of each side. This last point fixes one of EC’s longtime flaws - people endlessly respawning at the map corner airfields where there is no ability to go around them. You cannot flank if there is no flank to go on.
5. Add in the existing other objectives of EC such as aerial capture points, bombing targets, scout planes, bomber swarms, and attacker swarms.
It has been long overdue for nonfighters to finally have a place to belong properly. Solving the worthlessness of CAS and Bombers in Air RB will lessen the pain from the CAS issues of Combined Ground/Naval, because those planes will have somewhere to go.
Once all this is done, have this EC++ mode fully replace Air RB.
Yup, this game’s true potential lies in Combined Arms. I hope for a future single cohesive mode so good that the devs end up retiring the split vehicle-type-centric modes altogether. Drag the purists of each vehicle type into the Combined Arms this game was always supposed to be.
After attempting to play this mode, I see the obvious potential. Unfortunately, as I have intentionally avoided playing high tier jets due to seeing all the half-baked mechanics that make current Air RB a mess, I do not have the requisite know-how to play even half-decently.
The biggest flaw of the current setup is simple - none of the ground targets are undefended by either cracked AA or SAMs. Yet you need nukes to obliterate both. If you don’t know how to use all the fancy tech to dogfight (which I don’t), there’s no way for me to get any SP to get nukes with.
I hope the actual game mode derived from this incorporates a mixture of well-defended targets like it has now AND the sort of relatively-undefended targets (both ground units and bombing targets) seen in current Air RB.
Still, even if I do not understand the mechanics of the weapon systems, my opinion of the mode is generally positive. I’m glad to see that a true and complete overhaul of Air RB is being worked on. It’s long overdue. Hopefully said overhaul extends to the lower ranks with props I actually understand.

I 100% fully disagree. I would NOT play this mode without markers. You already have SIM mode, go play SIM if you do not want markers.
This is also why I do not play GRB. It is “so fun” to get killed from an enemy camping who NEVER moves to a different position for the ENTIRE match. No indication of where it came from. Try to sneak around the area from a different direction, dead again to an invisible enemy. Nope. You guys need to go play SIM if you want that type of “fun”.

I do agree. But I will repeat, as most players would and do agree, WITH markers. I know some of you guys want no markers (like Movran) but you guys are in the minority. And again again again, you ALREADY have SIM to play. I do NOT play ARB, nor do I play SIM. We do not need SIM players taking over RB mechanics too.
Sorry, markers stay. You will alienate the vast majority of the ARB player base with a change like that.
You guys need to continue to advocate for a mode like this in SIM, not to rewrite everything else about ARB to fit your SIM desires.
