Seriously though, i hope they dont forget to transfer some of the work put into this gamemode and upgrade simulator battles at the same time.

Outside of what AESA radars and high missile count brought into the game thats called iron dome meta in top tier, sim (atleast 13.0-13.7 area im currently working on)is still very decent compared to 10 minute air rb gameplay loops but could use bigger maps and more complicated targets for higher tiers especially.
Maybe things that would promote teamplay like wild weasel missions as a duo to clear up sam sites around the map.

256x256km map would make me play top tier more, i think it would allocate space for introducing new things and reduce the impact of 1 or even 2 su30sm2 or f15cge with their massive missile loads flying circles 15-20km and at high altitude from airfield shooting at taking off aircraft for a long time before running out of ammunition.
Depending on the map you can effectively lock down 1-3 airfields per player for a good amount of time.

Would i also play air rb more with this gamemode? Yes.

Noob speaking here. Here is my few takes. USSR has vastly superior radars to the US but has like no fkin countermeasures…

1. Gaijin needs to make the AA chill I died not once but twice to a FlaRakPz that didn’t show up on my RWR or minimap. Why? BECAUSEITS RADAR IS OFF THEN IT TURNS ON THE RADAR LOCKS ME WITHIN 2KM SHOOTS ME DOWN THEN TURNS THE FUCKASS RADAR BACK OFF. THIS is a game. It doesn’t need the forward regiments AI being complete sweatlords. Also how does it instantly know where I am without its radar? I was flying 50m above the ground Gaijin.

2. can someone explain how a 1.5kt NUKE fails to kill the F-4E like 100m behind me? It’s a NUKE bro

3. This is a giant me problem but I really should stop trying to dodge missiles when they’re 3.7km away.

This would absolutely spank. If helicopters are also added, I can finally use the NATO UH-1 Huey and then the Warsaw Pact Mi-24 Hind and Mi-8 Hips ability to transport troops around the map and gain points by just being a passive transporter with a bit of an offensive capability which I’d love to do since I suck so much at Dogfighting.

This mode looks like another game called “nuclear option”, and obviously the design idea of that game is right, because everyone thinks it’s fun after it was moved to War Thunder
Unfortunately, I heard that the maker of that game is not going to release any land warfare things, I hope War Thunder can expand a little more on this gameplay, but I hope it will not affect the nuclear option of the game, I think it is really good

For all of you wanting it to be a permanent mode: Yes, it will be.
It will take some time, but it will also come back periodically as they try out improvements.

Yeah, I suppose; but then they aren’t just a nuisance.

They could reduce accuracy, especially when maneuvering (never this accurate in true ‘live matches’). But also make a top tier mode with the B1B and Tu-22M or Tu-160

The only problem with this mode is that blue team members can’t join for ages

Forgot to mention this would have been the perfect time to add glide/cluster munitions for testing.

It’s because the balance has been whack, if the game mode stays and we get to use our own lineups it’ll be normal again

Helis would just be food for all the jets ignoring ground targets and focusing on air kills.

I like the idea but dont have much hope.

Ehhhh, not necessarily. Most good Helis have very good HIRSS for passive IR reduction, and some have IRCCM pods. Furthermore, not only do they carry a LOT of chaff, but if they are not moving fast they become very very hard for Pulse Doppler radars to lock onto.

Especially a hovering heli sitting just outside of SPAA range picking them off 😄

I would love to see Helis added, even if they are not extremely effective, I would love to use them for SEAD work.

Yeah, it shouldn’t work like that. IRL helis are monsters on the battlefield. The Devs can and should continue working on the mechanics to make helis viable in future modes like this
