Play to pain or Pay to play

it’s really bad and especially since I’m a college (High school in US) student, I find it difficult to get the money for premium, I’m just lucky I play the game for fun and not for the grind - unlike most I don’t care for top tier and just enjoy ww2. I think we need to change how premium works.

I don’t know prices but say 365 days of premium time is 10,000 GE. Instead of that, we should get say 30 days premium for 10,000 GE BUT the time only ticks down when you’re physically in a battle. In my experience whenever I get premium time I only end up using say 1/20th of what I got because of school, work, and other commitments and this would be much better for casual players and would also be a form of insurance if say, your computer broke.

Call me hypocrite but I’ll take some points from World of Tanks to answer some of the points noted by the poster;

Something that I can agree but not totally, I live in a terrible place to have any sort of good connection with all the three servers, I usually set to join in all of them and didn’t suffer from connection issues, only, server performance, which affects everyone, like Packet Loss spikes, that usually my tank loses breakes and the planes glues into the ground, it’s something that it seems Gaijin don’t want to put effort to fix for good but only when a lot of people are affected at the same time, which the fix is only temporary to happen again in some weeks;

I’d be careless about this, I’m a computer player and which I need to play on ultra low quality without any major performance issue, usually barely keeping 20 FPS; you should be glad to have some kind of compatibility to your device and sure some assistance during matches;

Pointing the topic regarding the World of Tanks, different from World of Tanks, levels in War Thunder doesn’t give any kind of advantage, usually the vehicles on World of Tanks specially Russian/CIS events vehicles tend to be just broken for the game’s balance and are usually restricted only to the Russian/CIS server, in the case of War Thunder, every player has the opportunity to obtain said vehicle and usually suffers from constant balance changes, case said with the Object 292 which got from battle rating 10.0, to battle rating 10.3 and now to battle rating 10.7.

For a game that focus on the ‘realism’, being capable of only shooting once to destroy a vehicle is part of this gameplay model, if you have problems with dying too fast play arcade then, a point that War Thunder holds is the capability to house various ways to play the game instead of only developing one type of gameplay to offer.

It’s a useless and forgotten gamemode, why would you play it knowing its issues? I personally only would play a single full match for the daily rewards.

For me, I see the problem with Air Assault Battles is the battle rating discrepancy, when you’re flying some mediocre jet, the other guy is flying a top-of-the-line vehicle with way better options to engage targets with ease before everyone’s else is capable to.

The game itself has a long grind, but specially ground vehicles which suffers most of this issue due to the number and terrible rewards per match.

I’d say some good matches are enough to upgrade your crew, you just need to know where to apply the points, overall the vehicles are fine, because everyone has the possibility to get them, be by monetary means or not.

If you want to get to the end-of-the-line every vehicle is needed, some just ignore them, what I mean is, using France as example, you need the Leopard 2A4NL, even if it’s just a useless lonely 10.7 main battle tank, you’ll need it to go to the top prizes at the next rank (read Leclerc main battle tanks)

When you can easily gets millions of amount of Spare Research Points, why, in a game like War Thunder, Free-to-Download would give the opportunity to the player to simply jump a entire line of vehicles with a few sections of games? Spare Research Points are easy to get and in no way Gaijin would give this power to the player for free.

This involves the players, not the game, even though Gaijin should make Bombers more appealing in Air Battles as a whole, it’s just terrible to try to play them unless you’re just going for the planet’s atmosphere to not be catch by some fighter.

Even today I try to understand why Gaijin keeps with the same strategies of only adding more premium vehicles instead of fixing bugs and other issues that been in the game for years, I can’t blame you.

Can you explain any further? I couldn’t understand.

QA team doing their work.

Not profitable.

I can’t blame you when the game has little developer-community communication regarding main issues, literally needing the entire or part of the community to make Gaijin pays attention to these issues (which seems to have loosen the ties e.g. no more roadmaps for the developments or such), but I’ll say, this complain will lead to nothing just like all the others in the Forums, you’re not the first and never will be the last.

Have one case that’s definitely not connection/route.

I joined an Air sim EC match ~16:00. I played for a good 70-80 minutes, RTB’d and landed and left. Match had 1 hour left.

I go do other things, come back 1h later match is long since over cannot find in lobby browser. No reward.

I check again. No reward. Oddly, it didn’t even autosave a functioning replay.

Finally, out of the blue when I decided to fly at midnight, I boot game up at 23:00 and suddenly I get my reward.

For a match I left ~17:30.

This is the most egregious case, but not unusual. I’d have air sim EC servers suddenly boot everyone present - think like 5-10 people all crashing and now there’s 2 people or so left in the lobby. Or match ends and suddenly it boots you into a new match and your rewards disappear then only show up hours later and other fun stuff.

Then there’s the join lobby 1, get 30% PL. Join lobby 2 in same region and it is smooth as butter.

This doesn’t definitively say it’s the servers though either, and you got the reward anyways…

The ammount of people that knee-jerk throw out that it’s the servers at ANY issue they have, without even checking a single thing, or even thinking, makes it clear it’s a common throwout more than a factual reasonable expectation.

Given how module research RP disappears if you go into a battle again before getting rewards, the fact that it took ~6 hours to finally show up is a pretty jarring issue.

And what else can you blame for not processing post-battle rewards but the server? If it’s a software issue server-side (scheduler for what operations to run), it’s still a server issue. “Ghost lobbies” are also a known issue in sim .

That’s more a bug than it being the servers though, a long reported, not really proven bug.

It can be any number of things, but jumping directly to it being the server, or even using an example such as yours to keep ‘validating’ that it’s the server is just feeding ignorance a lot of the time.

It should be reported and pushed forth to fix if you can highlight that sort of thing.

There will be a reason for things happening, but just jumping on it being ‘the server’ at the first instance makes any question of it being anything else, anywhere else, will just be met with ‘This person said it was the servers’ or ‘It’s always the servers’ and results in them being closed to the diagnosis.

Case in point is the most recent threads regarding the ‘server issues’ where I merely said about the fact that it could be routing, and everyone just dogpiled and went ballistic, because ‘others’ were saying it was the server and no-one was going to even ask how to actually diagnose or check other than their other games and broswers worked fine.

I think he is confused because they are not related. Like how something can be 5.7br and be rank 5 while another can be 5.7br and rank 6.

Br is for match making and rank is for economy.

I think this is all an experience issue. He is new to the game and is not used to how it works.
