Well, you see, MiG-19 also happens to have one of the best accelerations and climb rate at it’s br. So there’s not much choice.

Reason: Despite its advantage in long-range combat due to the AIM-7F missiles, the American F-4J pays for this with significantly degraded flight performance compared to the British Phantoms. Their radar systems are comparable, and their close-range missiles (AIM-9G) are identical. Moreover, the British FG.1/FGR.2 possess superior dynamics, climb rate, and are equipped with more countermeasures and the same RWR. In close combat, this negates the F-4J’s primary advantage. Considering all these factors together, I believe these aircraft deserve to be at the same BR.
