Both the Mk5 and Mk10 were fitted with this style of Thermals when serving in Berlin. They took the Mk1 TOGS thermal imager, and stuffed it in the IR spotlight box.

in essence, no. but you, as many others, highligh the advantages of the enemies while dismissing the advantages T-80UD has.
That being armor, 6 sec reload independent on crew level, and relatively good shell for BR.
I usually avoid the argument that “you havent played it” because I do believe it does detract from discussion, you can form an opinion on something just from facing it.
However in your case its not just that you havent played anything BUT russia, youre not even good at playing russia.
I actually highlighted issues with T-80UD in my very own BR change suggestion in this thread, so im just gonna copy why I believe T-80UD needs to go higher:
Id highly suggest for you to go out and actually try facing T-80UD in any other 10.3/10.7 tank. You will find that the armor scheme does hold well against most rounds, whereas the combo of relatively good shell, 6sec autoloader and mobility allows you to play very aggresively.
In fact I have to confine that 90% of my battles with T-80UD were done with stock crew and I havent purchased expert crew up until very recently
T-80UD will be absolutely fine at 10.7 while giving some much needed breather to 9.3 tanks.

Getting there, I will withold my opinion on it for now, until I get chance to play it proper.
Agree that newcomers buy top-tier tanks and losing against experienced players. But also 2S38 exists in this game not 1st day and many experienced players have it already. So why KD is still so bad and not many players use this tank? Looking at real possibilites, besides good armor penetration 2S38 is very mediocre and definitely not OP. Just as toxic as many other tanks. Tbh, bmd-4 from 9.7 feels better than 2S38.
Simple, look at player stat distribution:
the global alltime average kill per spawn is 0.6, with most of the playerbase sitting there.
Bad players simply outnumber the good ones.
2S38 is definitely good
will be fine at 10.7

That will be in-part because the BMD-4s should probably be 10.3 but are at 9.7 and destroy everything

same brs it just prevents non stablized tanks fighting stablized MBTs cause its just op
Im not talking about good players or average players. I don’t judge anyone’s skill. Everyone plays to the best of their ability. I’m saying that lack of baseline features shouldnt be compensated by only players skill. And if 9.3 tanks suffer so much - its time for global decompression. About armor: even Gepard from 8.3 can kill T-80UD aiming the commanders hatch, I`m not talking about standard hitting the barrel or drivers hatch and the dense layout of the tank in general. And of course, 10.7 means very often 11.7 uptier - very comfortable for tank with only -4km/h reverse and lack of thermal sight.

2S38 is already not that good because how fragile it, and with it decent damage.
Now when this thing will be uptiered to 11.7, it will be almost useless, it would have absolutely 0 chances while facing 1v1 with any tank

I encounter them all the time in 11.7+ matches and they always do just fine, good even
I can say extremely fragile. Unmanned turret doesnt save this tank unlike PUMAs indestructible turret. Mobility is also not the best. And I even forgot when I saw nuke on 2S38 last time.

but once again, its not just like T-80UD is only lacking. It also offers stuff over its competitors - that being armor, 6 sec reload out of the box, and relatively good shell and good forward mobility. You, either intentionally or unintentionally (I give you benefit of the doubt and say its the former) completly overlook these.
Hey I can make such argument too.
Leopard 2A7V can be disabled by well placed shot from WW2 soviet 122mm gun into the back of the turret, ergo Leopard 2A7Vs BR must be lowered!
It is doable. Proper positioning fixes these issues.

I mean youre obviously not standard player, and I can deal with T-80UD playing Abrams too (just not as well or regularly as you).
This however does not detract from the fact that the armor profile of T-80UD is good for its BR. Sure it has weakspots, but so does Leopard 2A7V.
(Do you have some custom crew voices by the chance?)
I don’t mind the A-5C going back to 10.3. But I would add PL-7 to the Q-5L and take it to the same BR as the A-5C.
No reason for Q-5A & Q-5L to be same BR.
