the rarden is 30x170, the russian ones is 30x165, the rounds itself is actually quite similar but the rarden has slightly higher muzzle velocity, the issue is that they still have the old model for the apds, like when the apds from the bradley used to pen 110mm, the thing is that the penetration every other round got updated aside of the rarden.
Heli PvE is broken at higher BRs - Rank 6 helis have to approach 4-6 km to fire ATGMs, while Rank 7 helis with FnF missiles have already fired and switched to engaging planes. It clearly needs a massive rebalance.
2S38 isn’t OP at 10.3 - it’s toxic, yes, but survivability is low: a hit to its unmanned turret almost always kills it, unlike PUMA’s near-indestructible turret. Mobility is average, gun depression is only −5°, and auto-tracker/proximity shells aren’t unique at this BR.
The only real advantage is APFSDS penetration, but that alone doesn’t make it overpowered. It still requires flanking to kill MBTs, and with low survivability and average mobility, performing well in this tank is not easy.
Looking at statistics this month, ground frags per death is only 1.02 in RB - even the PUMA has 1.05.
The ONLY thing that could be changed is the Round.
But that is IT.
The HP the guy sited is COMPLETELY WRONG. The L60 NEVER made more than 760HP when mounted in a Tank, the AVRE/engineer vehicles did get a Higher output engine due to needing to tow things and such, But that was EXCLUSIVE to them, as they weighed less and the strain on the engine and transmission was less, allowing them to squeeze out a bit more power. And the 760hp was only in the Mk11 Chieftains that had some SLIGHT improvements to the engine.
the reload is just a soft factor Gaijin uses to balance ALL the time. the Cheiftain Mk10 as is is a PERFECT vehicle. there is no need to buff it, nerf it, move it up, or move it down. Leave it how it is, and WHERE it is.
Sure, a skilled player can manage, but balance shouldn’t rely on top-tier skill to compensate for missing baseline features like thermals or decent reverse. Overexperienced player on T-80UD can kill tanks even at 12.7 battles. T-80B with thermal sight, -11km/h reverse and 1100 hp for 43 tons on 10.7 also performs well. Should it be moved to 11.0 according to this logic? What about decompression? Not moving good tanks to higher br making them less viable but lowering br for weaker tanks to make them also viable.
Give the Chieftains their Berlin brigade stealth thermals Gaijin.
Both the Mk5 and Mk10 were fitted with this style of Thermals when serving in Berlin. They took the Mk1 TOGS thermal imager, and stuffed it in the IR spotlight box.
