fair enough, its based off a bomber (incredibly bad climb rate and turning), its weaponry is all in a little pod under the fuselage (2x 30mm, 2x 20mm), 2 schrage musik 20mms and a dual 13mm turret, it does get an interceptor spawn but I’m beaten to altitude by regular fighters
Reasoning: is a mobile platform with a fairly potent 57MM auto cannon, while does not have APHE , it has access to a high pen APT round, as well as the I-TOW ATGM with over 600mm of penetration. Combine this with a mobile platform that has access to thermals, good mobility and a great profile as well as an unmanned turret makes for an overbearing 9.3 light tank.
Reasoning : incredibly mobile platform with access to a strong 100 mm gun launcher with over 750 pen and a tandem charge, as well as gen 2 thermals.
this gives the BMP3 a great advantage at 9.0 , as well as combining in a reliable 30MM autocannon, laser range finder and of course the hydronuematic suspension, makes the BMP3 as well an extremely potent vehicle for its BR.
Reasoning : with the current shift in tanks from 9.7 to 10.0, as well as the fact the tank is insanely strong in even a minor 9.0 downtier, the T72A while not perfect has the round, the armour, and the mobility to make it at 9.7.
though it lacks thermals it makes up for in armour profile, overall profile and a reliable round in the 3BM22.
This also doesnt include the HE round which can overpressure most tanks from the roof if used correctly.
The better engine doesn’t mean much when the HP/T for the TURMS-T is still better. But only by a negligible amount of .5 so it’s a moot point. I didn’t notice the better composites tbh but irony is that it only really helps against the 11.3 Abrams and Mk.3 Merkava for the entire bracket since they get a top tier round. Potection analysis claims DM23 and friends can go through the UFP consistently, but I’ve played a ridiculous number of games in the TURMS-T since it’s basically what I used to learn tanks (over 600 battles) and I have a really hard time believing that as long as the ERA is still there. I very distinctly remember my UFP only being penned by the former 11.3 tanks that you could meet like the Leo 2 PL, Clickbait, etc. Had the same experience when fighting them in stuff like the 2A4 because I was just determined to aim for the driver’s sight for a long time lol. I noticed it claims that even the strongest parts of the turret and hull armor on the 2A4 is penned by DM23 so I’m starting to wonder how reliable it really is with composites. But even then it looks like they undervalue composite armor in protection analysis. Where they both sit now results in the TURMS-T being a better version of the B unless you meet the 11.3 Abrams/Merkava Mk.3 in a full uptier. Ironically I was just about to start researching the B so I’ll have to do some testing with it. I’ve just been really lazy in doing it since the tiny COD maps have gradually made me hate high tier ground.
Reason: The Rooikat Mk. 1D is not overly powerfull at 8.3 compared to what it faces from other nations. In Arcade it is more difficult to use effectively as all light tanks are in arcade. The APFSDS is smaller than others that are available at the same BR. Some light tanks get the strongest ammunition for their BR. The Rooikat is good and a vital part of the british 8.3 lineup. Its a lot of fun to play on big maps but its not to powerfull for its BR.
Reasoning : the M1A2 abrams is comparable to the Leopard 2a5, it has a better reload, better mobility overall in its turret traverse and hull traverse. Has access to the fantastic M829A2 round, combined with a five second reload it absolutely destroys any and all BR 10.7 tanks
That’s cool and all but also a 2 way street. It has better armor than any other 8.7 by a pretty wide margin and not every tank has APDS. A lot of them get heat which the hull excells at blocking. The only thing that comes close to it in armor is the ZTZ59D1 and M60 RISE which get the same kind of heat protection, but is a standard T-54 turret/M60 against all other rounds. Meanwhile the AMD-1 has amazing turret protection compared to everything at or below its br. You’re also not looking at the most important part which is that it terrorizes 7.7. When I play 7.7 France (And I think we can universally agree that France gets the strongest 7.7 lineup until Gajiin nerfs that too) I always whip out the Surbaissé first spawn in a full uptier just so I can point-and-click the AMD-1s I meet just like they do to me regularly.
Pretending the APHE shouldn’t be used? That’s a paddlin’. The APHE is the primary round I use because it’s way better to just one-shot nuke tanks through weakpoints than it is to gamble on reload time. With the help of the laser rangefinder it’s not a problem to go weakpoint hunting at any range. If I meet something the APHE can’t handle then it’s time for APFSDS.
That’s just flat out untrue when it comes to the AM-1. I literally can’t think of a single tank with a better package than it at 8.7.
“I can’t pen a couple of tiny spots on a singular 10.0. With my dart and decided APHE is bad. Aaaah! It’s over!” APHE exists. Use it to nuke every tank there is at 10.0
HP/T of AM-1: 16.6
HP/T of Magach 6M: 14
HP/T of Kal Dalet: 13.8
HP/T of TTS: 13.4
HP/T of Chieftain Mk 10: 12.5
Seems legit.
Better reload: yes.
Better round: who cares? You have APHE and dart works fine.
Similar mobility: no.
Better layout and survivability: lol no.
Better ammo positioning: LOL NO.
Better crew positioning: yes. More likely to hit ammo on accident.
Everyone should go up just to suit my 1 tank.
So you think the sheer volume of AM-1s will singlehandedly change the entire bracket? Lol. One tank isn’t gonna change the world because lets be real, nobody plays the AMD-1 when there are so many better options
I hope you internet stangers have as much fun reading this as I had making it. I got way too much time on my hands today.
