BTR-82AT gets:
- Slower top speed
- Slower reverse
- Less hp/t
- No commander override
- Less atgm’s
- No ess
- Less armour
- Less ammo
- Stupid aimable atgm
The only thing it actually gets is a better atgm and thermal sight

R-73 IRCCM functons no different from Magic 2 IRCCM or other gatewidth IRCCM missiles
Not to mention the Su-30MKK/MK2 get 4 more missiles than the MiG-29SMT
What exactly do you think makes the MiG-29SMT deserving of a higher br?
Literally what are you talking about? MK-80 is single band
MK-2200 for R-73M is dual band.

It’s FOV and FOV only, whatever you’re saying means, bot
IRCCM type that the AIM-9M gets is just superb imo, especially with the AAM-3
Also Su-34 is 13.7
All of these don’t matter and the BTR-82AT is much superior just because of its tall ATGM which in some cases makes the vehicle impossible to kill
It could be the worst vehicle in the game but the tall part still makes it better
It might be better if you’re a cuck who’s k/d farming ig
Jeeez - im talking about how it works in game - i dont want to put here full military technical spec…
Congrats on being wrong on how it works IRL and ingame?
Well I mean that’s how all players in war thunder are going to use it, so that makes it better
Italian tanks are worse but the player base is just superior so we get much higher BRs
Yes and no. Depends on the situation.
Aim-9M switches its seeker off no matter what, regardless of whether its a single tiny CM like BOL or a large calibre flare, so it doesnt matter what the defending aircraft is doing or what CMs it has. The 9M reacts identically no matter what, then its just a matter of turning correctly to evade the missile afterwards.
Additionally at longer ranges, the IOG drift is enough that the 9M will just miss, even without the defending aircraft having to do anything other than keeping the seeker off. Id not recommend relying on this, but its certainly a problem.
But if fired at a target in a weak position or side aspect, where turning the correct way is tricky, then it connects quite often. But its pretty poor overall in a dogfight due to its poor kinematics and rear-aspect isnt that great for the IRCCM type either. In a dogfight, Id hold R-73 and Magic II well above Aim-9M or AAM-3
what they really need to do:
BTR-82AT gets:
Slower top speed (79.6 vs 99 on Japanese, fact, but I don't think that's a big advantage of jap. variant)
Slower reverse (11 vs 13 on jap., that's true, no joke - there is an advantage on jap.)
Less hp/t (jap. advantage)
No commander override (jap. advantage, but I very rare see usage of this due to being severely crippled after taking a shot)
Less atgm’s (true, but they are much harder to use on most maps in my opinion)
No ess (and jap. have no thermal :) )
Less armour (hard to say that - really don't know. All I know - they both have no armor at all)
Less ammo (400 vs 300, but soviet variant does not play against soviets. Anyway, I think both have enough ammo)
Stupid aimable atgm (may be, but jap. can't be used at all in situations where soviet can)
But I think better atgm and thermal sight - is way better than jap. advantages, especially due to different matchmaker. I’m not proposing moving soviet up - I propose move jap. down where it wont be OP anyway. There many way better auto-cannon vehicles in game, especially on 8.7
Why should it? Players are the customers Gaijin wants to keep. Not vehicles.
Before you set such lofty goals for yourself, start with something more basic: write a forum post yourself without asking AI to come up with arguments in your stead.
Thripartite structures, bullet points, gotcha statements, and faux academic style headings all over the place. Can’t stand it.
The OP thing about the BTR-82AT is the raised ATGM launcher and the ability to aim and fire from the ATGM. You can sit in a perfect hulldown position, showing only the tiny ATGM launcher and kill people with ease.
This especailly at a BR where TVD isnt common.
I hate those damn things
The “ghost shell” issue still occurs, but it is a connection-related problem that is virtually impossible to eliminate and affects practically every tank.
What OP mentioned was the issue the Turm III experienced when Gaijin implemented the three-plane stabilizer: if the tank was even slightly tilted, the shell would simply fly off to Narnia.

IS-2 player bought a Turm III
I think he meant that because the CLOVIS has a front-mounted engine it has better survivability frontaly than the Turm, since the engine absorbs some shots.
I don’t know how much diference it makes on Arcade since I don’t play this GM as much
Vehicle: Chi-Ri
Gamemode: Ground Arcade/Realistic/Simulator
BR Change: 5.7 → 5.3
Reason: With the Panzer IV’s reload about to drop to 5s, the Chi-Ri’s fast fire rate no longer has much of a reason to exist. Alternatively, its reload could be reduced to 3.5-4s to still let it have a niche.
Vehicle: BTR-3E1
Gamemode: Ground Realistic
BR Change: 9.0 —> 8.7
Reason: As we all know having thermals is one of the factors that decides vehicle BR. Soviet BTR with thermals sitting on 9.0 with the same kit as Japanese one is kinda funny, since thermal removals. Japs version even have worse positioning of ATGM.
Me too. Never experienced ghost shells before using this tank either. Not buying that its normal and just lag as it only happens using this POS
as i thought KD is much closer as more skilled players are playing it
if the chi nu II was a tech tree its KD would be much lower as influx of noobs at these BRs
I can already smell the updated BR changes list including even more green and potentially less red
