The AMX-50 (TO90/930) have no business being at 8.0. It’s only using APCBC, has no stab, no armor and average speed. It should go back to 7.7 or maybe should consider giving the tank it’s HEAT-FS shell that would help the tank to be more effective (link below). https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/cISYXF5iguY1
Vehicle: tornado IDS, tornado 1995
Change: add kormoran
Reason: the bug report was accepted long ago and Italy is the only nation still without A2S weaponry on tornado
Vehicle: M1A1 HC Gamemode: Ground Realistic BR Change: 12.0 —> 12.3/12.7 Reason: The M1A1 HC has access to the M829A2 round which is the second best round at top tier, coupled with the 5 second reload this arguably gives the M1A2 the best fire power at top tier, and yet it is only at 12.0. Coupled with its excellent mobility and perfectly capable survivability, this MBT stands well ahead of anything else at 12.0 currently and could even be considered the equal to several MBTs currently located at 12.7. An increase to 12.3 is the bare minimum required. I am unaware of any meaningful differences between the M1A1 HC and the M1A2 SepV1 which is currently a 12.7 MBT. The only difference I can see is the M1A1 HC has APS and a slightly weaker thermal gen. The APS is a minimal advantage, which only really leaves the thermal sight difference. Whilst this could warrant them being at different BRs, this was not enough to justify the Leopard 2A6 and the Leopard 2A7 to be separate BRs and there are greater differences in performance between those MBTs as far as I am aware.
Mode : Ground Realistic
Vehicle : FV4005
BR change : 6.3 > 4.0
Reason : Unless HESH is fixed, there is no reason for a vehicle that is arguably worse than the M44s and M55s to be at 6.3/6.0.
Vehicle: M1A1 Clickbait Gamemode: Ground Realistic
**BR Change:**12.0 —> 12.3/12.7 Reason: The M1A1 Clickbait has access to the M829A2 round which is the second best round at top tier, coupled with the 5 second reload this arguably gives the M1A2 the best fire power at top tier, and yet it is only at 12.0. Coupled with its excellent mobility and perfectly capable survivability, this MBT stands well ahead of anything else at 12.0 currently and could even be considered the equal to several MBTs currently located at 12.7. An increase to 12.3 is the bare minimum required. I am unaware of any meaningful differences between the M1A1 HC Clickbait and the M1A2 SepV1 which is currently a 12.7 MBT. The only difference I can see is the M1A1 HC Clickbait has APS and a slightly weaker thermal gen. The APS is a minimal advantage, which only really leaves the thermal sight difference. The complication is that this is a premium, and gaijin have previously stated they will not add max BR premiums to the game but I think it is far more egregious to leave a top tier MBT at 12.0 and simply pretend it’s not an issue. If its BR cannot be increased to 12.7, then at least remove the M829A2 round and replace it with M829A1 so it is limited in terms of shells compared to the other Abrams to warrant the slightly lower BR, but even with this reduced round performance, it is still a 12.3 worthy MBT when directly compared to several other 12.0 MBTs such as the Leopard 2A4M. M829A1 is still one of the better performing shells at top tier.
Mode : Ground Realistic
Vehicle : Panhard EBR (51)
BR change : 5.3 > 5.0
Reason : While it’s mobility is good , facing all of those heavy tank going down to 6.3 is going to be a huge headache with the 75mm.
Vehicle: Challenger 3TD Gamemode: Ground Realistic BR Change: 12.0 —> 11.7 Reason: The Challenger 3TD has some of the worst survivability at top tier, has the same poor mobility as the Challenger 2 and little in way of any upgrades that justify it even being the same BR as the Challenger 2 let alone a higher BR bar one. The DM53/L55. This does it give it top tier levels of firepower but on a very very mediocre platform, when coupled with the 6 second reload instead of the 5 second reload the Challenger 2s have (for their current tiny ready rack), there is a debate to be had whether this is actually much of an upgrade in a lot of battles. Coupled with our non-existent 12.0 lineup, and this MBT is nearly pointless to play and uptiering the lineup from 11.7 to 12.0 just for the better round is often not worth it.
Alternative solution: Increase the reload from 6 seconds to 5 seconds, this gives it a direct and meaningful firepower advantage over the Challenger 2s and maybe a reason to justify the current BR. This is also puts it more on par with MBTs such as the M1A1/M1A2s currently at 12.0, though it is still weaker than all of them
At its current Battle Rating, the AGS constantly faces MBTs and heavily armored vehicles equipped with advanced composite and explosive reactive armor (ERA).
M774/M833 shell: The currently available shells are severely lacking when it comes to reliably penetrating most opponents in the center mass, even when targeting side armor or weak spots at angles.
Light tank specifics: Due to the complete lack of heavy armor, the vehicle relies heavily on maximizing its firepower. Granting the M900 shell would give the AGS the necessary penetration to effectively play from ambushes and execute flank maneuvers, compensating for its lack of protection.
Vehicle: Sovetsky Soyuz Gamemode: Naval Arcade & Naval Realistic BR Change: 8.7 —> 9.0 (9.3 would be better) Reason: The Soyuz is without a doubt, the strongest ship in the game and the only ship that realistically stands a chance is the Iowa at 8.7. All other ships are DOA in a 1v1 against a Soyuz. It is completely unreasonable for 7.7 ships to be facing the Soyuz and Ideally, most 8.0s wouldn’t either. Even 8.3s would benefit greatly if they didn’t have to face the Soyuz but that level of decompression is currently not possible
Vehicle : J-15T
Mode : Air RB
Change : 14.7 → 14.3
By far the worst 14.7 plane in terms of survivability with a good missile kit but a very mid radar. At 14.3 it would still not be the best plane but also not the worst one anymore.
Other ways to make it viable: Change the amount of CM by doubling it even if ahistorical or finally implement ECM
This light tank only uses APCBC and does not have a stab, and does have a pretty wobbly gun. It should not stay at 8.0 where most of the other light tanks have acces to HEAT-FS, gun stabilizer and high speed, making all of them better than the Char 25 t. It’s only advantage is a fast reload, which is not enough against your opponent, especially in a full uptier. Dropping it’s BR to 7.7 would help it a lot, or considering giving it it’s HEAT-FS shell that would help the tank to be more effective (link below). https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/cISYXF5iguY1
I’m a bit confused here as to why the Leopard 1a5Be is being deemed not effective enough to stay at 9.3
When it was announced, there was a follow up post about duplicate vehicles, and it was noted that France’s 9.3 line up needed variety now, hence getting the Leopard 1a5BE, and not waiting for the AMX-30C2
But now we’re seeing the Leopard 1a5BE dropping to 9.0, so what was the point?
Vehicle: Javelin F.(A.W) Mk.9 Gamemode: Air Realistic & Air Sim BR Change: ARB: 8.3 → 8.0 ASB: 8.7 → 8.0 Reason: The Javelin is easily one of, if not maybe the weakest aircraft at its respective BRs. It is slower than most, turns worse than most and its weapon systems are hard to use. After its recent nerfs in Firebirds update, it has only gotten worse and really needs to be moved down in Battle Rating. In an uptier of any kind, you are a free kill. Especially with the introduction of the Hunter F58 at 9.3, which you are matched against often. Your only hope to do anything in the Javelin is a full downtier, and even then, every match is a struggle. 8.0 May not actually be low enough for this aircraft to be competitive, but it is as low as it can realistically go.
Vehicle: Eurofighter (ALL Non AESA)
Mode: GRB
Change: 13.0 → 12.7
Reason: Unlike the AESA ones they dont get the Spice and therefore have a lower effectiveness
Vehicle: R400
Mode: GRB
BR-Change: 9.7 → 9.3 [1]
or: No BR-Change but reload-time reduced from 6.7s to 6.0s [2]
(a picture in case y’all forgot how it looks because its already so irrelevant)
Justification:
The vehicle is extremely lackluster in comparison to other wheeled vehicles at the same (and lower) BR’s, such as the Rooikats, which feature significantly better mobility (power to weight ratio and 3x the reverse speed), gun-handling, elevation-angles (-10° vs -7°), with their sole downside being not having gen2 but gen1 thermals. (in case of MTTD, they’re even at a lower BR).
Type 16 for example is better than R400 in every singular way except gun-angles (gets -6° of depression instead of -7°), but has better thermals (gen 3 for BOTH crew + IRST autotracker), virtually same performance dart (17mm of pen difference, gg), a 12.7mm HMG, twice the ammo-capacity, same reload, better mobility and better gun-handling.
It’s essentially a fat wobbly brick that can’t move anywhere quickly enough, dies to HMG’s in certain spots frontally - and in any spot side-on, has poor ammo-capacity (20rds), mediocre gun-handling and elevation angles, just to get gen 2 thermals.
Imo, it should either be lowered in BR to 9.3 [1] or have it’s reload-time reduced to 6s in accordance to the maximum rate of fire of the TH 301 turret it uses (10rds/min) [2] to make it worth playing over literally anything else.
Spoiler: Excerpt from TH 301/A4 brochure for the above
