I wish I could see games like that. I rarely see 4-5 aircraft in games anymore even counting drones sometimes.
at a br higher than 8, im also seeing less and less planes. around br 3-5 its really cancerous how much cas there is. and i specialized in spaa. i grinded china specifically for the wz305, only to end up hardly using it due to the low amount of airplanes.
When i play 9.7, im lucky to see more than 1 enemy aircraft the whole match.
Between 8.-10.0 there’s pretty good parity between SPAA ability and CAS weapons so you see a lot less aircraft because it’s dangerous for them.
Once you’re above 10.3 they start showing up in force again because they once again gain a range and F&F advantage over SPAA.
This is why my 10.0 SPAA can’t touch 8.3 helicopter firing it’s ATGMs.
Pretty good ≠ perfect.
You can’t have parity when 8.3 helicopters are outranging 10.0 SPAAs. This being a fact proves something isn’t right.
Planes with guided munitions will also clap SPAAs without much effort.
There are always going to be individual nations or matchups that favor one side or the other unless everyone has the exact same vehicles /mixed nations.
But between 8.3 when you get radar fire control directors and 10.0 where you have IR missile/gun systems and guns with proxy fuzes, while airplanes have no F&F munitions and relatively few good guided munitions.
I understand the frustration with the IR signature modeling of WT helicopters, and the piss poor modeling of western IR weapons. But that’s still the only BR range with actual parity between ground and air. And that’s what you see fewer aircraft in that range than you do outside it.
Those ~8.3 SPAAs will hardly hit anything that’s not moving in a straight line. At that BR they’ll start encountering Nords/Bullpups that can be guided while the plane is dodging incoming fire. At ~10.0 IR slingers will start encountering guided munitions and they simply don’t have an answer to those kinds of threats.
HE-VT is nice to have for helicopters, but it will also struggle against guided bombs. In my opinion one of the only properly balanced SPAAs is M247 at 9.0.
If you insist
Top tier ground RB has basically just become Air RB with a twist.
This is what happens when only 1/10 countries is allowed an AA system adequate to deal with the threats faced. (And, hilariously, giving this same nation the best standoff CAS too).
Forces players of the 9/10 to play ASF’s to defend themselves.
CAS is fun, of course its going to be popular
