Description: The Piaggio P133 was the last Italian heavy bomber ever made. It’s story begun in the 29 january 1943 when the Regia Aereonutica ordered other 24 Piaggio P108 heavy bomber units. But those were not normal P108, they were a new model called P108 Bis. This new model featured better engines with a total of 4 P.X RC60 with a total of 1700 hp. The armament was also upgraded featuring a total of 6 20 mm cannons and 4 12.7 mm machinegun. Thanks to all this differences the new project was named P133. The first oreder was composed by 24 units but it was later reduced to 6 units. The first of june of the 1943 the Major State approved the forniture of the needed resources for the 6 Piaggio P133. The construction of the first prototype, the MM26248 was around the 90% when the armisitice of the 8 september arrived. The prototype was hiddedn in a gallery for save it from the allies bomber. There are two theory about it’s fate. One it’s that it was scrapped in the gallery, the other is that it was moved to another cave in the Dolomiti mountains and it remained here.
Why it should be in the game: This is the last Italian heavy bomber ever made, it will help a lot the line that was abandoned after it’s creation.
