Petition to increase RP/SL gains from matches

The development of war thunder in the recent years features a great expansion to the length of each techtree, thus greatly increasing the number of vehicles to research if one desires to get into top-tier, this has caused an inflation in research points and silver lions, which should be remedied using increased RP/SL gains.

Why getting to top-tier matters:

The majority of ground and air players play at higher br ranges, easily visible as there’s simply more people queueing for rank 8/9 than any other rank any time of the day. Personally, I also have this experience as the person who originally introduced the game to me mostly plays top tier (Modern tanks much more popular among us kids), and isn’t that fond of WWII tanks. And not only a near full year later do I get the lineup to team up with him. This vast gap in-between downloading the game and actually being able to play in teams with friends is hundreds of hours, discouraging many new players. I am excluding options such as buying premium top-tier tanks or planes simply because not everyone is willing to invest 70 to 80 bucks on a games they aren’t experienced. (I have approximately 800 hours recorded on my steam when I finally get the full top-tier British ground lineup, which could be less than the time spent of others as I bought a premium jet of help speed up the progression.) Asking someone to invest almost 1k hours before unlocking every br so that they can play with a friend is really hard. Out of the 5 friends I have that plays WT, there is only one (the one who introduced me) that has proper lineups beyond 9.0. The other ones have played for an average of 200 hours and spent most of those hours on high tier premiums.

Why current RP/SL gains is not enough:

The inflation in terms of research points needed for unlocking new vehicles rises as the br goes higher, going up to 420k needed for a top tier plane (typhoon aesa), this amount of rp requires tens of hours of grinding, which is crazy for an in-game non-premium, non-event vehicle. Because of this, the grind for new top-tier vehicles can last days and weeks if one isn’t dedicating all day to the game. The stretched-out time period acts as a huge gap between the rewarding feel of obtaining new vehicles, not to mention how stock grinding new vehicles after obtaining them is another painful process that further dulls the joy of playing.

Why the solution of Premium vehicles/accounts cannot solve this issue:

Along with the inflation in RP/SL needed for vehicles is the price for premium vehicles. Lets say a player who already has full German lineup wants to play US top tier ground, if he wants to speed up the process, he would have to purchase 1 premium vehicle, most likely the Clickbait or the anime HC, costing 80 bucks each, and 1 premium plane, most likely f4s or f18, costing another 60-80 dollars. Taking in account around 3 months to half a year of premium account, which is another20-30 dollars, the overall money spent into buying the vehicles for grind sums at 180 dollars. After buying all these vehicles, one is still not guaranteed a quick grind, as the time it takes to climb to top tier is still above 300 hours (I spent 400 climbing to the techtree M1A1HC tho I don’t have premium account most of the time), and, until then, ur lineup is lopsided and weak, unable to actually compete against full lineups. The amount of grind required to unlock one of the ten tech trees is still much more than the grind for other games. 180 dollars, and 300+ hours of grind is just too much for a lot of people, with the same money they can just buy multiple planes from DCS.

What benefits increases in RP/SL gains will bring:

Much less time investment will make the game much more friendly to newer playerbase, who is often the group that’s more willing to pay for premiums. As most players gain satisfaction from unlocking new vehicles, this change would certainly speed up that process and thus hook up a wider range of people (who perhaps just have a little less patience than dedicated players). For Gaijin, this is also a gain, as the length of premium accounts might seem to have decreased, but decreased time investment in opening new nations encourages and motivates more people to explore new nations. This would no doubt lead to increased sales of premium vehicles (Much more profit than just premium accounts) and more activity. Similarly, the gaijin marketplace would also benefit as players who have more nations would be more willing to purchase event vehicles which gaijin takes a 15% commission from.

Overall, increasing the pace of the game would bring much more life and activity to it, boosting sales rather than causing people to pay less.
