Patria CT-CV 105:How to play it?

Okay so i recently got the CT-CV 105HP from the lootboxes and since i was always interested in this vehicle,i decided to give it a try but my God i’m starting to lose my mind trying to spade that vehicle,so i’m here to ask:how can you play it properly?

It is one of the biggest tanks in game (i think it’s as big as the Maus) meaning you’ll ALWAYS be spotted no matter what.
“It is incredibly fast” but you’re big and light, meaning you’ll get shot at very often and you lack the armor to tank even a single hit

The crew sits in the turret, which is the highest spot of the tank, and the autoloading rack sits behind them without a blowout panel, meaning everytime you get hit for the first time in the turret, you’re either crew killed or ammorack killed,in any cases it’s a one shot

“But you have a 5s reload!” It is not practical when you literally need to shoot first, otherwise you’re dead since your massive silhouette is your biggest flaw.

Moreover, the lack of rounds is very disappointing: the top shell is the DM33? Don’t get me wrong,it can be good, but that thing sits at 10.0, and that round at that BR is not very good. Keep in mind,at the same BR there’s the M1128 with its M900 that can shred everything even at 11.7.
Plus, this project started in the Mid-2000s,so i really doubt the top round for this tank is the one created in 1985 and not the DM63 which was issued in 1990 (or the DM43)

Just FYI: i spaded the M1128 and i’m on my way to spade the Vilkas, and both of them are a breeze of air compared to this because even tho they don’t have the best gun elevation (or damage for the Vilkas) compared to the Patria, the crew and the ammo are protected by any incoming fire, thus reducing the likelihood of being OHK

As it stands right now, there’s no absolute reason to play the Patria other than being a free kill for the enemy team,so please enlighten me because i really want to enjoy this tank.

Its the biggest tank, its just slightly taller than the class 3p while being slower than everything at its BR. You have to snipe with it, its not a great vehicle because of the chassis and size.

It’s bigger than the 3P?damn 💀💀💀💀

And regarding snipe…cool idea but there are these problems:

  1. Few maps with the appropriate spots to snipe
  2. Even if you find them, your big turret is an easy target even at 1 km
  3. Your top round is not the best at sniping frontally

So yeah,i tried to snipe today standing behind a rock with good cover…until a T-80UD launched an ATGM that hit the corner of my tank thus OHKing me,and trust me it was literally a pixel of the turret

Yeah sorry to tell you but the patria does everytbing the cv90105 does but worse. Though its coax and main gun can both look up 40°, so theres one positive

Roger that i guess i’m gonna leave the Patria there and use it only in Custom Battles or once Gaijin will add more advanced rounds (pretty unlikely)

Regarding this: Cockerill is not good if they think a light tank created for anti-tank purposes doesn’t need something basic like a blowout panel for the autoloader. It’s not that hard, the Type-90 has it 😭😭

Yeah i know, but at least that’s a funny vehicle and it’s premium

Hell i even got the Su-76D with the last event’s toolboxes and let me tell you, it’s way funnier than the Patria

Well i hope it doesnt turn you away from trying the swedish tree

Play mobile, get positioning, and use that amazing reload to your advantage. Don’t be afraid to take some ATGMs for penning ERA covered T-series tanks. Use the Commander sight for peeking over hills and tall things, and the Drone* (edit: drone said drive) for spotting targets at range or hiding. Also make sure to use the .50 Cal, people tend to forget they have one and think it’s a .30 cal.

I’m interested since i know from a fact that they’re insanely strong, but right now i’m focused on finishing US ground and grinding Italy Ground,so i don’t have all the time in the world

Those are very interesting advices, but the problem is that there aren’t maps with good spots for flanking and/or sniping with a bus like that.

As i was saying earlier, there were many occasions in which i got OHKilled simply because i was too big to be sneaky and i got traced the moment I peaked the corner of my spot

You must be playing a different game from me then, since I’ve had plenty of big maps that this thing it amazing at. And besides, even on the plentiful amount of urban maps, just use the speed to flank and get to great positions no one would expect you to be in at the start of a match, and work you’re way around the back of the maps.

Sidenote: don’t forget to use the -10* of gun depression to your advantage. It’s hella useful for a tall boi like this.
