Path to New-Gen Tanks

Soon after World War 2, the Soviet Union created the T-54 tank. It was such a successful project and set such a high bar that the machine stayed in production for decades. Designing a better replacement turned out to be a hard task. Soviet engineers spent ages trying to make a radically new vehicle. One of those attempts was a tank known as the Object 140.

By the title, I was hoping this was a thread about giving all nations tanks equal to the Leopard 2A7. God knows most nations need that

For a Soviet engineer, sure. Still can’t get over Gaijin’s infamous [paraphrasing here] “because Soviet engineers couldn’t figure out how to get the extra performance over roughly the same surface area, we are basically nerfing NATO/Western missiles”.

Why actually? In that logic Germany must get leclerc evolution

It is a product of KNDS, which is a German/French conglomerate

I give example above.

Leclerc Evolution is specifically made by KNDS France (Nexter), not KNDS as a whole

Double standards again?

I don’t necessarily agree with this argument I’m just laying it out since you asked why

Upon further reading it seems like Leopard 2 A-RC is made by KNDS Deutschland, similar to how KNDS France makes Leclerc Evo. So it’s a wash really

this, because mostly everyone knows its the case,
the only shared programm is the embt

Was it a solo project?

Yep. KNDS Deutschland. But as well people telling that a KNDS (fully), then it must works in both sides
