Past Event Vehicles Problem

Today, I want to talk about past event vehicles that are either unavailable or very expensive. To make these vehicles more accessible and enjoyable for more people, I’ll propose a solution. These past event vehicles could either be acquired with Golden Eagles at a slightly higher price ( but more expensive than those currently offered with Golden Eagles), or they could be part of a loot pool event held annually during a specific period. In short, this would increase the accessibility and variety of these vehicles, preventing them from disappearing from the game.

EDIT / UPDATE - Based on Community Feedback:

I hear your concerns about Golden Eagles and loot boxes, and I completely agree. Nobody wants more RNG (luck-based) mechanics, and we certainly don’t want a “Wallet Warrior” situation where anyone can just buy rare vehicles instantly.

Therefore, I am updating my suggestion to focus entirely on in-game effort (grind) rather than money or luck.

Here is the revised solution:

  • The “Legacy Token” / Warbond System: These past event vehicles should be obtainable through a long-term “Legacy Token” earned by completing very difficult in-game tasks, or by reaching the absolute highest tier of the Warbond Shop. It must require real dedication and playtime.
  • Strictly Account-Bound (No Coupons): Any vehicle earned this way must be automatically consumed to the player’s account. They cannot be sold on the Gaijin Market.

Breaking the Market Monopoly:

Right now, a small group of market speculators is hoarding these historical vehicles, artificially inflating prices to hundreds or even thousands of GJN. The game’s history is essentially being held hostage by an artificial monopoly. War Thunder is a military vehicle game, not a stock market simulator. Players who genuinely want to experience these vehicles should be able to earn them through hard work and dedication, rather than feeding a speculative market that only benefits a few hoarders.

Let me know what you think of this revised, grind-focused approach!

İf u tell why u agree or disagree i will be appreciated

They already appear in SL crates every now and then afaik.

I mean E-100 or u know obj 279 , M6A2E1 , battlepass vehicles etc.

The E-100 was never an event vehicle to begin with. The 279 might have been in the crates already not sure. I know it sucks missing an event vehicle (I myself missed the sturmtiger) but that is just how it is. You cannot have everything in life. The sooner you come to terms with it the sooner you’ll feel better

E-100 tournament event or something if i am not mistaken . I’m not saying I want to have them all at once, but it would be better if they were more accessible so people could play and there would be more variety in the matches.

I would like to see them be added as reruns for grind events.

If i have it, i dont have to grind the event which would be nice.

It is tournament only. Special case kind of thing.

It was an absolute pain to grind out the Object279 during the event. Those build-a-bear events were built different. If it does come back, I want you all to experience said pain. Bring back the build-a-bear events.

I respect the fact that you survived the Space Race event, but there is a very good reason why Gaijin stopped doing those ‘build-a-bear’ crafting events: the vast majority of the community absolutely hated them because they caused massive player burnout.

There is a huge difference between ‘dedication’ and ‘unhealthy suffering’. Earning a top-tier event vehicle should definitely require long-term effort, but it shouldn’t force players to treat War Thunder like a second full-time job for two weeks just to prove they ‘deserve’ it.

A system where we earn pieces or tokens progressively over several months rewards consistent, healthy playtime. Just because a game mechanic was unnecessarily painful in the past doesn’t mean we should gatekeep new players with that same bad game design today.

I think certain hour/matches played waypoints should give the account tokens for past vehicles, this sounds like a nice system provided they are A. untradeable and B. require some degree of vetting to ensure bots cannot spam thousands of low tier games and gain access.

Rewarding long time players should be more commonplace in war thunder as it would help incentivise people to both come back to the game and continue playing, especially for long time console players who missed out of events from before WT was ported to Xbox (in my case)
