The french get spikes tho, they feel better on the puma than the pars 3 do. But I have no experience with them on helis. I doubt they drop the lock because of trees (which happened to me today).
Tbh, at least you get the JAGM-MRs, which I feel are better when I was fighting them. But that is totally anecdotal.
Not saying they are worse or better than the Pars, but the pars are just not modeled correctly, esp when the LMURs exist

IR ATGMs are not affected by flares. Outside of LDIRCM or somehow managing to dodge it at last second theres not much you can do to dodge JAGM/LMUR.

You need to break los, use LDIRCM or terrain mask.

Then the pars is bugged, I have watched it go for a launched missile a couple days ago. Unfortunately I don’t have a clip of it, so you’ll need to take my word for it.
I can definitely say, that the LMURs are way better at tracking, because they actually have a top down attack (something the pars should also have) and track even diving behind hills.

The fight the community had to get the IRIS-T SLM to reach Mach 3 (which doesn’t actually reach Mach 3 consistently, with peak velocity only sustained for a few seconds), despite several secondary sources stating the missile can reach that speed, vs. what they implemented in the very next patch (several missiles going Mach 3+), is a testament to that. lol

My statements were, in this case, anecdotal personal experience. I have died more against spike-ERs than have gotten helicopter kills with the pars 3.
A good chunk of that difference might very well be the range disadvantage of the pars 3 and the better seeker of the spike-ER.
Afterall both are the worst helicopter mounted fnf AGMs in the game atm. The Pars 3 DOES have a better attack mode in real life, which would make it somewhat competitive with the LMURs. While not being better due to the way smaller TNT equivalent and lower range.
They should give Spike it’s man-in-the-loop capabilities, even if it’s limited to the target you locked. Like, you can’t mad-dog the missile, but you can choose where it’s going to hit. It would improve the missile a whole lot.
Yeah this just sounds like a skill issue ngl, you can literally hear spikes approaching you, and sometimes maws is also helpfull, you can dodge them. or hide behind the hangar
Spike-ER and PARS 3 LR both have functionally the same seeker, with the spike only having better gimbal limit and track rate, both of which are useless against helicopters
PARS 3 LR also just has a functionally better range, and is just way faster
