this rocket launcher used to make a loud echoing sound that could be heard from half the map away in game but it was changed some time ago for one thats much less impactful and barely noticeable that can only be heard by team mates standing close to the vehicle, during real war it was nicknamed screaming mimi due to it’s loud screaming sound that was heard by american and british troops prior to the impact
its rocket also used to make a scary screaming sound when passing close enough to a tank which was also removed in the last patches
it would be amazing if these sounds could come back for this platform as it was very impressive to hear and the screaming rockets passing by would make the enemy nervous as they instantly realized they were target of the attack, adding some psychological element to the gameplay, now only the impact and subsequent explosion is heard and its hard to pinpoint it-s location purely by the sound

Gaijin has had issues with not being able to decide whT they want their game to sound like for years.
this thing used to be like the TorM1 or HQ17, you knew there was one working in the map bcoz the sound was very distinctive and had a lot of presence, but the rocket sound now is very subtle and recently the screaming of rockets flying too close was removed too for some reason which is a nerf to me in a certain way bcoz the whistle sound from near misses would make players hide just like the effect IRL from artillery whistle when its about to impact, if you’ve seen real warfare footage you prob noticed this sound from artillery rounds its like one or two second of warning to duck asap
here’s the PoV from enemy perspective with panzerwerfer launching rockets from 500 meters away, at 1km and beyond the sound is almost unnoticeable

i dont know what happened but the scary sound of rockets flying dangerously close has returned and theres also a wailing that is heard echoing all across the map like the death cry of a banshee when using this thing, i wonder if its an hallucination but regardless
its just beautiful
