Panzerkampfwagen T-34/88 747 (r)

Yeah and the KV-1 L-11 and KV-2 1939 are some obscure and rare production variants.

They didn’t even add the Finish KV to the Soviet tree.

Many WW2 SPGs are missing and a ton of armored cars.

No upgrade to the StuG III G either.

Gaijin was like: The best I can do is cover tanks in track armor. And then they forgot about that again.

more copy paste slop you say?

No Belgian interwar and cold war boxes. No French pre-war super obscure prototypes. No 44M Tas, no Romanian tank destroyers… who knows what else is missing. Schofield tank… artillery for every nation (SU-14, G.W. Vickers Mk.6/Wespe/Hummel, M12, Bishop) replaced with modern slop…

Top tier is where the money is, sadly.

I wish I lived in the timeline where War Thunder stayed focused around WW2, maybe going into early cold-war with the T-54/55 and Centurion, but no further.

And people would love it.

The problem is more with them abandoning idea of uniqueness for nations and adding copy-paste subtrees.

My guess is that they are abandoning the idea of national tech trees all together in the future… They abandoned the idea of no top tier premiums for example which was the core idea of tech trees before.

are we still arguing over the T34/88 not having a 88 KWK ?
or did you guys figure it out ?

i dont think anyone ever said the panther 2 was real im pretty sure thats something gaijin cooked up themselves

as the IRL panther 2 from blue prints would look very similar to a panther F
planned it would have a 75MM like the Panther Fs

its was sametink that the nazis were planing to do but they didnt have resources and time

IRL the 88mm panther was a separate project

According to the German record, it is quite certain that they stuffed an 85/88mm Flak gun tube into the T-34-85/SU-85 firing mechanisms.

yeah makes sense since 85 isnt much smaller than 88 probably had to install a new recoil system they also fit a 100MM inside one so a 88 is reasonable

its not that crazy to be fair its got a 85MM cannon orginally 88MM not to much a stretch to fit ive seen PANZER 1 with a 75MM

It was believed to be fake for 80 years with only one veteran having a written down account of its existence. Amazing that it turned out that one dude was not misremembering some other things that happenned

also the panzer 1 with 75mm is not using an encased turret, this is.

If I remember right German cannons with there ammo was designed in a way that most captured artillery could be bored out used with little further modifications. Germany was banking on captured equipment to fill out what there industry could not. To the point some USSR equipment was found on the western front being used by the Germans.
