AESA radar is search radar, with range of 70km against a “small target”, while the track radar is 40km (and while not confirmed here, it is a prime example of a reflection type PESA antenne).

I’m glad to see we got the tracked one, has access to smokes and better mobility, definitely a force to be reckoned with.

While I understand this thread is kind of dormant since the SM-SV was added, that definetely doesn’t mean there isn’t room for more suggestions.

Speaking of, since ARMS are added and there are plans to give the U.S even better AGMS, and other nations possibly, there should be high consideration for letting current and possibly future Pantsir variants to use their autonomous scanning mode with the tracking radar without requiring a “hard lock”. I understand that could possibly be a bit janky given how target tracking works when the tracking director is active, but it should definitely be considered moving forward
