Pantsir is hilarious

This thing doesn’t even make me mad, I just laugh

I spawn in, zoom to look at battlefield, less than 2 seconds after airspawning I see a missile already on the way. I pull a total 180, first missile misses. Second missile that was 2 seconds behind it hits me as soon as I level out. I waste 700SP on my F111 and have to return to hangar. All in 20 seconds.

What actually is the justification for this? People are allowed to cry about CAS killing them 5 minutes into the battle but Pantsir straight spawnkilling planes you spend 700SP on is acceptable? I’m in a F111, I can’t pull ridiculous maneuvers to try and bleed its energy and I can’t 180 fast enough to not be instantly spawnkilled by it.

Combined arms is hands down the most attractive part of GRB and I can safely say the game would be dead without it, yet people still complain about CAS. Select few strike aircraft give it a bad reputation but it’s otherwise cool as fuck. People cry after getting dogged on by F15’s, F18’s or an Su-22 and then the whole role of CAS has to deal with that bullshit SPAA that is on level playing fields with those 3 aircraft. So sad.

3:23 is when you spawn in, 3:37 is when you get fired on, 3:50 is when first missile intercepts and somehow doesn’t hit you even though you haven’t changed course an inch from spawning in while being in a subsonic if anything its just showing had bad the pantsir is.

So no it wasn’t 2 seconds, it was 12, and the missile didn’t even arrive at your location until 27 seconds after you spawned in, and in all that time you didn’t do anything but look down tpod. You would have died to a tow 2b if it had the range to hit you.

but ya russia is OP and pantsir needs to be moved to 15.0 immedietely and also its just krok fantasy.

People complains about close air support as the Pantsir-S1 is exclusive to a single tech tree, and not everyone is playing said tech tree. Close air support in ground battles is a ‘eat or be eaten’ game, first thing you should do in the first second you spawn in a plane is set a laser designator on enemy spawn, look for a anti-air and send it, other ground targets can wait.

And I don’t know what you’re trying to pull off from a F-111, it’s a huge target and you should’ve figured this out, planes usually spawns very high, just go down if you don’t have proper weapons do deal with ground targets by the moment you spawn as I suggested previously. Evading any anti-air can be pretty easy if you know how to maneuver in lower altitudes, it can save you countermeasures since SACLos missiles can’t be guided without visual contact.

spawn on the airfield bud, or learn to go cold immediately instead of waiting to react. CAS are not hard to play.

Spawn in, turn around, dive, and use pop-up tactics, it’s that simple man. If you think it’s bad now, just wait for the new AD systems next update.

They are going to have to move airfields back really far as well as airspawns

You don’t have to spawn on the airfield, just dont fly straight for 30 seconds. Pantsir isn’t hitting anyone outside of 8km if they JUST TURN and aren’t going 100mph. He dodged the first launch without even moving, those missiles have no energy at 10km+, any course correction bleeds them of anything left.

No, they just have to give planes about a 10-15 second period after spawn where they can’t be radar locked or shot down.

If you can’t hack it at the airspawn, spawning at the airfield is going to result in the same thing but delayed by 2 minutes anyways though.

Pantsir can launch without lock, and unlike what people might say it takes about 10-15 seconds to reach the air spawn. Even in the replay I posted it took 15 seconds to reach him.

Only way to actually kill someone in the airspawn in 5 seconds is to see someone die, look at air spawn and fire and then pray they appear 10 seconds later. Which would be actually hilarious if you pulled that off.

So pantsir would win in that regard and only thing that would stop new SPAA is no lock but thats kinda goofy. Not to mention it would give kh38 slingers immunity while they rain hell on your team from airspawn.

I hope the new SPAA is good, but I really doubt these missiles are going to have enough energy to hit someone that isn’t flying straight 15km away at the airspawn just like pantsir, last I checked they started choking at 8-10km dropping below mach 1.

But still just dont fly straight when you spawn in, its not gonna kill you, you don’t even need to dive. Its only going mach 1 at 12km fired a target flying in a straight line, any kind of movement before then and its cooked.

Like I suck at CAS, but I play enough SPAA to know whenever I die its a skill issue and im not making threads like these or saying you have to handcrush people at the airspawn.

Yeah CAS players get angry when they can’t just fly straight and shoot off their ordnance.

If you’re talking about SLM then this is old news.
It’s now easily above M1.0 at 15-20km of range.

I thought the slamraam was better so assumed it was the same, man they gigabuffed the slm, maybe germany doesnt suffer.

Still i wonder what speeds look like not headon, I imagine it wont be at mach 1 at 15-20km if it is turning, depends on how they model the intercept path, if its just going to be in chase most of the way or not.

Pantsir being saclos means the player is in control of missile pathing, and not at the whim of how its modeled in game, so difference between a good and bad player in pantsir is huge, and probably remain the most fun to play spaa since theres a side of skill expression there that wont be found in fnf sams. Also having guns for low passes and actually being able to somewhat fight back against ground targets that pretty much every match will be looking for easy kills near spawn. These new spaa especially the bigger ones are gonna have a hard time not getting bullied by tanks.

Pretty much this. At top tier air you have to spawn and immediately go defensive.

You do have time but flying straight at altitude is a surefire way to die 100% of the time

To be fair, Pantsir is and always has been pretty OP compared to all other nations SPAAs at top tier which gives whatever team has russia on it a pretty noticable advantage on CAS. Its been a common issue ever since that damn thing was released.

But I guess we’ll see how gameplay evolves with the new SPAAs being added.

Pantsir is not Overpowered in this sense. Yes it has insane range, way more than any SPAA currently in game, but it is practically useless at spawn range unless you’re moving in a straight line. If I spawn in my F-4EJ, I can see the S1 on my radar, I know I’m being tracked. I turn and sideclimb or I just climb straight forward. They’re incredibly easy to dodge at that range, even in boats like the F-14 and F-111.

Also, if you really are having an issue with it,
Airfield spawn. If you cannot dodge a Pantsir, spawn at the airfield.

we cannot be serious. aircraft are at literally no risk when they spawn, this gives certain aircraft the opportunity to essentially fire off all of their long range munitions with absolutely no risk. It also takes like 10-15s to reach airspawn, and the only SPAA that can reach is LOAL Pantsir.
