Do we know if the GR.4 ever got the terma pod with DIRCM
If you communicate directly with the developers, could you suggest adding BR 12.3 to the rotation in Sim EC? There are enough planes with this BR in the game, and more will be added in the next patch. But they are actually playing at 12.7.
The new mirage for France has ground target radar stuffs, is there any progress towards getting ground radar for Tornado? I am surprised France ended up with it before Britain. Can’t slave ordnance to radar with mirage tho.
No, that was Terma’s AMASE pod used on (Dutch) Apaches
The DIRCM emitter on AMASE (AN/AAQ-24) is not suitable for fast jet use. Fixed-wing use of AAQ-24 in the RAF was integral to the fuselage rather than podded, and only on things like Hercules, Globemaster and Atlas.
Yeah, this is nothing new though, for all of 2023 and the first month or so of 2024, there was no 11.7 bracket either. Tornado F3 was for some reason at 11.7 (not 11.3 like it was in ARB) and thus was always facing 12.0s and 12.3s, which did include the Su-27 for about 6 weeks.
I guess its just the low pop count of 12.3s and thus a lower priority. Every other bracket it works fine the current sim brackets. But does screw 12.0s out of a 0.3 uptier bracket and really screws the 12.3s like the GR4 and GR7 to always face 12.7s.
Im assuming it will be fixed when A) there are 14.0s and B) next BR change, usually Sim gets addressed every other BR change.
That being said. I reviewed what we will face at 12.7, its mostly going to be Yak-141s and Mig-29s. Gunna be annoying to deal with, but their radars arent great, so you should be able to sneak past more often than not. Last year, evading in the GR1 vs both Mig-29s and the Mig-29SMT/G and the F-16MLU was quite rough, but this time round, its weaker airframes we’ll encounter and we actually have our full kit, not the 28 flares and 28 chaff we had last time. Let alone all the bells and whilstles the GR4 gets over the GR1
Though ultimately I think 12.0 would be more appropriate placement in air modes than 12.3. Places it above aircraft like the A-10C still, on par with the Mirage F1 and below the Mirage 2Ks (especially notable in Sim with the Mirage F1 being 11.7 not 12.0)
I distinctly remember somewhere we could talk about these kinds of things. Must’ve been a dream.
Definetly back to the insane asylum for you
Where do you think I live?
We may not have Sea Eagles, but do now have Anti-ship missiels that work really well
Vs what it looks like on live currently:
(P.S My god the GR4 feels a LOT more spritely than the GR1 does, the Mk103s feel like they make a huge difference (or there is something else going on) Also, the new test flight, my god its going to make testing things WAY better, maybe one of the best changes they’ve ever done.)
Now if only we had naval targets to strike.
You do in Sim, at least on some maps :D
But I do wonder if these changes are a precursor to ASMs (both for more aircraft and maybe even ship to ship) and more naval targets (including carriers) for ARB
Yeah, like 3
It’s funny how your interface combines speed in knots, altitude in feet and distance in kilometers.
Britain manages astounding horrors against humanity.
And we get away with it
For now.
Hehehe.
Knots for speed just feel more natural for me (Plus I play a lot of naval and im too lazy to swap out of knots when switching gamemodes) Also a lot of British cockpits display the speed in Knots in the cockpit
Feet just works with my brain for altitude, British thing.
Distance… Should probably be in miles I guess, but I just know everything as KM and it would be a pain to relearn distances, tried setting it to yards for naval, and it broke me :D
Just wish the targeting pod went off distance not alt for a unit of measurement, Ft instead of KM in that break me
I use all metric, am i french?
Still waiting for the option to set measurement units in naval to knots and nautical miles without tainting my other things.
No, you’re right.
Worse. I think you might be… German
