Panavia Tornado (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

IIRC you can choose the countermeasures it uses while BOZ has a fixed 600 large chaff, and it gets MAW as well?

Now that we have PGM IOG i can work on range reports, but tbh it does not look too good.
Sub 3000m - 20km range
3000m-9000m - 30km
Over >9000m - >100km (impossible)

The number on the left is the launch altitude, the numbers on the right are how far it should fly IRL?

Yes, (impossible is to the game, not IRL range)

If there is a range increase to the TV PGMs, I’m not noticing it. If it does exist it doesn’t make a difference to how they acted before. Track acquire range is unchanged.

It has bigger point range. But it is still far from what it should be.

Totally and utterly inconsequential. Could already ground lock and hit from beyond 25km before and you couldn’t even get much further away on most maps without being turned around. Nothing has really changed.

And also i think, but im yet to confirm it, they will now lock when they enter the seeker range, not just guide on point.

They already did that.

Target range was unchanged. Point was changed to 40 and IOG was added. Thats all.

Yes that’s why I said the change is inconsequential. The range may have increased on paper but in practice a lot of the ground maps aren’t big enough the extra range would even come into play. I know I’ve had on quite a few maps that I’ve been getting forcibly turned around at around 25-30km from the battlefield. You’re also not going to be firing PGMs from that range realistically either even if you could get that far away as there’s no point.

It’s a nothingburger. Only thing that will be interesting is the track range on the new IR PGMs.

20km for IR Lock

Very nice.

Ofc thats max range, things like cloud somewhere on the map limit it.

TERMA pods have 240 CMs that can be a mix of flares or chaff and has MAWS

BOZ have 28 large flares and 600 large chaff

So if you need just pure chaff,.you are better off with a BOZ pod or 2, but otherwise the extra flares and MAWS is better. You do get semi good coverage with one pod, so you don’t need to take 2, but you will have blind spots.

@Gunjob the gr.4 still lacks BOL pods, is it going to get them at this rate?

There’s literally no reason not to give it BOL pods IMO

No update to the report unfortunately, but you can make some noise here;

And we can forward that feedback to the devs.

Oddly they go back to being green if you apply the No. 2 Sqn. “Arctic camouflage” marketplace skin

Forwarded cheers.

Does the MAWS even work at present? I’ve had 0 warnings flying over rolands.
