Yeah, things like the Gen 1 TIALD and extremely early UV MAWS feel really wierd on it
And that is funny, as HMD has a separate AAM mode.

This has to be very pointless in WT. Any plane with fire and forget munitions can slave the seeker to the mouse cursor. MiG-27 with KH-29T, F-16A with Maverick… I think they should be bug reported so that they cannot do it without proper HMS for ground munitions.
What’s the source for that?
At least that is where I heard about it. I don’t know if new information has come to light since then
Well the Jaguar GR.3 HMS could be used to aim missiles and the Tornado GR.4 just reused that. So presumably it could also be used to aim missiles.

Though it requires it to be wired up right?
Likely just uses the SEAM function of Sidewinder, I can’t see a good reason why the Striker would only work with the TGP and not Sidewinders on GR4 when that’s how it worked in Jag (both TGP and Sidewinder worked for queuing.)

Yeah the day I have a 2000’s manual for GR4 will be a good day but it is not in my collection as it stands. (not through lack of trying)
So Gr4 does have full HMS?
Everything I’ve read and heard suggested it never did. Unless that was just confusion between the F3 and GR4
So it can guide AAMS?
