Yes, you sellect before dropping them if you want them to be GPS guided, or if you want to guide them using laser. We do not have a feature like that in game yet, so they are not here yet.

If the Tornado came with HMS and AIM-9Ms it would be a pretty welcome upgrade, for CAS even just a better resolution thermal sight would be enough

GPS bombs are also quite nice as they make fighting SPAA easier, but the loss of PGMs would kind of suck, I really enjoy using them
Well. I’d hope that if we didnt get Brimstones or Storm Shadow, we’d keep the PGMs for now. I cant think of any reason why they wouldnt still be compatible / in the british arsenal on the Gr4. (except for the fact they were likely replaced by the aforementioned weapons)
As for everything else, yeah, Even just the Mk103 engines, FLIR and Gen 3 Tpod would make it a worthy addiiton for us
is it true the gr4 was limited on going mach with some of these munitions on board? I would kind of understand for the brimstone’s but i just hope gaijin dont make it for everything.

As long earlier MiG-29/Su-27 also had HMD that can guide Radar Missile, I don’t think they would make A-10C HMD guidance historical either. Ironically enough, F-16A MLU of the Belgian Air Force got its historical treatment (can’t guide Radar Missile with HMD).

With the Tornado GR. 4 rumored to be coming in the next update, will Tornado ADV/IDS get any buff again? Something like Emergency War Power? It would be good if Tornado got buffed again.
They were never actually compatible in the first place, only ever being fit tested and not test fired.
Doubt it.
There are certain drop tanks that have mach and G limitations and they aren’t modelled as such, so I doubt it.
There are rumours of SEAD gameplay in the works, so things like ARM and maybe CBUs. Both could be fitted onto the Gr1 (and other ids) as well as the Gr4. Would be nice if either came with the Gr4.
Also, if we are getting the Gr4, would be really nice if it had it’s ground radar at long last, which again, should also come to the Gr1 and others.
After those, the only major buff for the Gr1 would be its missing BOL or IRCCM missiles.
As for the ADV, holding our hope for Phimat pods sooner rather than later.
I think combat thrust would come as part of a general update, probably for a US or USSR aircraft and then added onto other aircraft at the same time or later rather than being a Gr4 thing…
if SEAD does come we could get the Tornado EF.3
Essentially a Tornado F.3 with the ability to carry SEAD munitions, specifically ALARM
