Panavia Tornado (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

A-10C’s 11.7

ive been told that so many times now i have no clue how i dont remember it… also, im being sarcastic (kinda, still should be higher) about the 9m being equivalent to the asraam lol.

Especially when they put jets like the f104 asa at 12.0 cuz “reasons” while the a10c can sit at 11.7 because its slow? it can dog fight most things because its slow and now it has hmd with 9ms…

And most things can in fact out run and out climb it so how is it supposed to even intercept anything, in the CAP role?

Dunno if you guys care but heres 1 tornado scorted by 2 f35s from the 6th flock from ghedi, the red devils of the aeronautica militare italiana

Mi ha stupito il primo passaggio dei tornado, una sturata di orecchie incredibile haha, tra l’altro talmente veloci che manco ho fatto in tempo a fotografarli…

@Spil1tia-psn I shall take this to the correct thread, you are looking at the wrong stats.

The biggest impact between the two engines is in thrust and acceleration as you can see here, is lower with the Tornado Gr1. Not by a huge amount, granted, but enough to feel it in matches (GR4 just feels so much nicer to fly than the GR1 and maybe its a placebo effect as much as its an actual difference, but I still prefer to be at 12.3 in the GR4 than 11.7 in the GR1 largely because of it) . Enough that the GR1 is less likely to make it to a base compared to the ASSTA1 and IDS (1995) and unlike the other 2 nations, Britain doesnt have a single Tornado IDS at 11.3 either, and that is also quite severly felt.

When the Tornado Gr1 is 11.7 with weaker engines than the Tornado IDS, WTD61 and MFG at 11.3 with the exact same loadout (as no one is using guided weapons in ARB) , its just frustrating as hell

The reason given is nonsense and there are simply no excuses for it than a subtle nerf aimed solely at Britain and Britain alone.

it is a less than 1% difference so yeah might as well be placebo

on the topic of subtle nerfs, did you know that the f18c and f15c are both under performing in str? did you know that the canards of the su33/30/34 are not actually modeled at all and are only visual? did you also know that the su27s fm was up until storm warning based on numbers from a very early prototype that had a wildly different design than the final aircraft? yep seems like its only britian that gets its aircraft nerfed.

the planes were added before separate brs were introduced, gaijin hasn’t gone back and retroactively changed the air rb brs of any other planes in similar situations to my knowledge

Do you know so are the Typhoons?

Did you know the same is true for the Gripen?

Did you know the Tornado’s still have a placeholder FM that is underperforming greatly.

Did you know the Harriers are all underperforming dramatically? Even basic things like the sooty exhaust was reported a year ago now

The Tornado Gr1 is 11.3 in GRB and 11.7 in ARB/ASB. It literally has split BRs applied to it.

No, gaijin has concluded that GBUs are OP for A2A combat and therefore all the Tornados with guided weapons must be a higher BR than those with only dumb weapons even though no one uses guided weapons in ARB and only sometimes in ASB but that is largely irrelevant to their BR placement

Did you know the f/A-18 engines are also overperforming

wow almost like every thing is balanced to the same standards and there isnt actually some great anti britian conspiracy? shocking i know

pretty sure a report on those passed so it will likely be fixed soon

properly not soon

as i said, it was put at 11.7 before split brs were a thing and there are a bunch of strike aircraft in the same situation that have not been fixed either

if it dose take awhile i can guarantee it is due to laziness
