Ooh, prox fuse is deffo going to turn them into an effective a2a weapon 🤣
Is IOG disabling after laser is used once correct though?
That is what I’m wondering most. Even if the accuracy isn’t perfect when relying on IOG, if you are forced defend or are shot down when it’s in the terminal phase, that the IOG would re-enable and have a chance of still impacting the target. I was finding that even with the laser switched off with the target only 2-3km away, it would suddenly just drop like a rock out of the Sky, instead of traveling in vaguely the right direction.
Just seems like strange behavior to me
Gib Tornado GR.4 )))))
but until then, time to have fun with the Tornado F.3
Zusammenfassung
Yes its “mid course guidance” its not IOG to a specific target point. The IOG gets the missile to a target area not an impact point.
Including the nose dive into the ground it laser lock is lost during terminal phase?
Quite frankly gaijins excuse for gutting the capability is absolute bollocks. 90% of vehicle at top tier don’t even know a missile has been fired at them. Do you expect MBT players to be looking up the sky for a smoke trail from a KH-38 the whole time instead of looking for stuff on the ground so they can launch a smoke to hide from a missile. Or any other missile for that matter. PGM can do the exact same thing I’ve hit targets from 15km out same with mavericks. And the tanks don’t know because you don’t need to use a laser so it doesn’t set of LWR. So the problem here comes down to them ignoring smoke? Ah yes not an issue when players don’t even know a missile is coming there way anyway.
Just give the MMw radar or don’t add them at all quite frankly. Oh no they can be launch outside of SPAA range well from what I’ve seen of the dev server they can’t. Infact the range is so poor and speed so slow the aircraft itself is a sitting duck. And you have to fly within range excessively so if there is a pantsir to actually guarantee a hit.
I’d rather see them feature complete or atleast allow target lock with the built in radar once they reach a certain range. Fly course with the laser until the radar reaches lock range then auto disable the laser.
it would be uncorrect, unlike kh38ml when losing laser guidance
.by the way,the kh38ml won’t explode out of range like Brimstone.
Yep, just feels like it’s almost intentionally changing direction when it loses laser lock instead of just going ballistic. Unless that’s just the controls no longer angling to keep it going. That’s all, I’ll get a clip later and see if I can demonstrate what I mean
Indeed, gaijin gave him a iog drift value on the code, which would make it absolutely impossible for him to hit target once he lost the laser guidance.Unless the missile has flown very close to the target.
I wish they added brimstone to the british MQ-9 just to make it more unique, since they are already useles anyways. Also having the AH-64E with a better longer range hellfire seems like a fine idea to me
It currently can IIRC
Doing the lords work, if we get to have a reliable 17-18km window to fire from I can deffo see the missile being a lot more viable then the initial worries of a 10-12km max range.
Also proxy fuses will be le funi. Cant flare it, cant chaff it, hug the ground if you like, cant wait to see the kill compilations.
are there any whispers of changes to the motor?
Okay, the earlier behaviour mentioned doesnt seem to be universal. What I was finding is that when the laser was terminated during the terminal phase they seemed like they dropped like a rock, even if they should have had plenty of energy to maintain a fairly straight ballistic path, but when tested under more optimal conditions, they dont appear to be showing that behaviour today. So assuming nothing has changed, then any fixes with range/speed should deal with the slight deviation noticed when fired at closer ranges.
Whilst not true IOG, the laser being interrupted shouldnt result in the missile being a guaranteed miss.
Well, Brimstones were already pretty effective against slow aircraft / helicopters. If they get proxy fuse they are unironically going to be a decent air to air weapon
I’ve already been able to use them for some fun air to air shots even without the proxy
I wonder if we will get storm shadows now that we have groms in game, since there really isnt much of a difference between 120km range and 520km in game when the ground maps are barely 40km, only thing I can think of that would be kinda broken about it is for ASB and ARB for bombing bases and partial stealth
Erm… Just a pure question.
Are both versions of Tornado IDS in Italy [early/11.3] and [Late,1995/11.7] used different types of BOZ pods?
or just another human error in the Dev server?
The rest of the Tornado IDS’s BOZ pod got buffed with 1200 large chaffs while Tornado IDS[ITA] kept old 680 large chaffs in her BOZ pod.
Well, it’s dev server right now so… not final. If you want to give the devs a nudge there’s the bug report site.
Sadly AH-64E is incapable of firing Brimstones as it was never integrated.
You called people slurs for wanting Brimstone to be as accurate as possible in another topic, yet you copy ALL of my takes here and use them as your own?
Insulting TBH.
