Panavia Tornado (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

Idk 6 GPS+SAL GBUs is a pretty good reason, and you keep the PGMs from the GR.1 (at least on dev)

Stupid that we only get 9 as well, 15 would still be over br’ed with how they work rn.

All they need to do is make Brimstones fire and forget

Thats it, thats all that needs to be done and they’ll be fine

They dont need lock after launch or laser guidance, but make them guide like a maverick

IIRC Storm Shadows have to be programmed with their target’s location before you take off.

6 gps bombs when the av 8 gets more than that. Its like the a6e compared to our buccaneer. both are 10.7 while one has up to 16 laser guided bombs while we get 3?

Please vote yes if you haven’t already

Presumably, Gripen will receive gbu 39. So at that point, just take Gripen.

That wouldnt have mattered in game as its a video game. Same for the new e paveways where it had to be set as gps or laser before launch.

it should be able to switch to IR and Laser at least make them bearable
this is too ugly

Yep same. Im of the opinion the Tornado Gr1 should have Aim-9M at 11.7. (or at least Aim-9Li) to justify the BR increase of the WTD61

Didnt know it oculd get them, would give it up to 8 (im assuming) along with 2 9ms and 2 r darters. Instantly better than the gr 4…

Dissapointing how we went from discussing if the gr 4 could even be added due to how powerfull it was to now where its seen as not even top tier worthy cas…

6 GPS+SAL, the option of laser guidance in the last few seconds is big. I’d like to see if the laser “updates” the GPS co-ordinates (basically what the bomb does when the laser is turned off)

edit: plus being faster means more range on basically everything as there’s more inherited speed

Could get up to 16, if you are prepared to give up the darters.

So still more strike options than Gr 4 unless you take the incredibly substandard brimstones.

Its good but i think itll have the problem of accidentally making all your bombs go for one target if you activate the laser.

I’m fairly sure that isn’t true, have you got a source?

Its what ive seen in the forums so take it with a grain of salt.

from what Mike showed there’s no requirement to set mode before you drop, in-game at least. he drops one without the laser active, then turns it on while the bomb is in the air and it tracks.

the pre-amble to the demonstration was talking about laser vs gps as a lead up to the bombs that do both

Not final at all at the minute, so anything you see on dev isn’t complete.

Looks like the devs will be busy trying to make a workable system. It’s not even close and that gives them what a week/2 weeks to get it to a useable level…
