Panavia Tornado (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

to be fair the wide FoV of the TGP might distort the launch sector, i’ll have to fly it myself to see how it works

Seems they have just pasted across the hellfire launch envelope from the Ah-64. If this is the most advanced targeting pod surely we can lase it while flying away from the target?

Agreed but then it’s not a top tier CAS platform and that’s the frustration we have no FnF capability and the same stand off capability of the Tornado GR.1 :(

Dev. Server.

Oh agreed, but we don’t see the US GBU or Russian GROMS not functioning.

We havent even been able to test them properly yet lol

Did anyone catch what BR the GR.4 was in air RB?

I saw it was 12.3 in ground

I thought it was 12.3 in air. Was that the ground BR?

We have seen dev server footage of the system, it will need a lot of work. Will it get the work before its released in a week/ 2 weeks time? Hellfires after years still don’t have a top attack profile unless you are above the target by a good amount.

After checking it seems to be both 12.3 in air and ground

Yeah, this is not going to be good. I can barely think of a good reason for it to be higher than 11.7 tbh. 12.0 should have been its max in air.

Considering no 12.3 brakcets for sim either, this means its 12.7 and will face Mig-29s 100% of the time. In something that is basically identical to an 11.3

Presumably its 12.3 as it has AIM-9M with HMS, thats a good kit but you only get two AAMs

Personally I think 12.0 would be fine for air

Why did Brimstones get ruined? I read the news thing and they took aware the actually useful things of Brimstone. What’s the point of Gr 4 if the main draw just straight up doesn’t seem to function? If Brimstone stays in the gimped state, you’d just bring a harrier instead.

Its 12.3 flat, no differing br.

Gaijin thought they would be too good

Instead of being logical and just modelling them as normal fire and forget they locked them to laser guidance.

I agree with not allowing lock after launch yet, but limiting to only laser is stupid

They should have never given us brimstones when storm shadow is far more easy to balance. The differance between 120km and 400km is a moot point when your maps are too small for anything to not be in range. In air the stormshadows may have been a little powerfull but so are the groms. Brimstones could have come later and i would have been more than happy to wait instead of this shit.

Or they could have just made Brimstones accurate and let Britain have something nice for once. Not like folk are lacking the air to air platforms to down a nado.

Storm Shadows are not intended for targetting individual vehicles, they would be cool but they would be most useful in air battles for hitting bases/pillboxes

tbh i can forgive just laser if it had range like 25km+ but only 10km? lol i rather use Apache with hellfire at this point

They would have never given us it even remotly acurate. even with fnf it would have had the spike or hellfire flight patter making them 5 hit wonders anyway. And i would not have been suprised if they added the grom with arh head and gave it its fnf capability.
