I’d totally agree if it wasn’t for the fact that the ZTZ99-III at 11.0 has both superior armour, better overall awareness due to LWS and thermals for both the commander and gunner and the top tier shell China has to offer (that being the DTC10-125).
I’d personally just add the Naiza to both the 478BE and 478BE-1 but obviously they’ll both be placed at different BRs.
Now that i look at the tech tree, we could try and aim for an 11.3-11.7 lineup.
Z-19 plus JH-7 complement to a T-80UD 478BE and BE-1 alongside the HQ-17, giving us a pretty decent 5 vehicle lineup and we can upteir the ZBD04A for scout and LT purposes, making 6 a solid for almost top teir. Just gotta wait for the decompression to hit though

Shouldn’t the sight model of the T-80UD 478BE be different to the one of the T-80UD as the the 478BE has access to a generation 2 thermal sight? Both the NVD and day sight look exactly the same, am I missing something?
The parade camouflage of the 478BE is also now present in-game, looks pretty nice.

You’re probably right, from the available images from the 478BE-1, there doesn’t appear to be any external differences, most likely a internal thing. It’s probably safe to assume it replaced the NVD sight rather than the day sight as well, unless it has multiple channels.
The only thing I’m upset about is the BR placement, there is absolutely nish at 10.7 meaning you’re going to either have to uptier the 478BE to 11.0 or bring a 10.3 lineup alongside it - if China was to receive a good amount of 10.7 vehicles in the near future this may be more manageable.

I’m not sure, didn’t Ukraine lack actual T-80UD parts needed to ship them to Pakistan and filled those gaps with T-84 parts? Maybe this could be the reason the 478BE actually has thermals, or the other option is that Pakistan upgraded them themselves.

There’s already 3 11.0 MBT’s, 4 with the premium.
10.7 is a better fit long term.
There are only 4 actual 11.0 MBTs in China last time I recalled, there are literally zero and I mean zero vehicles at 10.7 other than 2 aircraft which within themselves offer poor qualities for Ground Realistic.
The Naiza APFSDS is also a issue of historical accuracy, they would’ve carried them in real life even if in small quantities. At the current state of things, the T-80UD 478BE will be a straight up C&P of the T-80UD aside from the thermals, moving it to 11.0 and giving it the Naiza AFPDSDS will make it more of a unique vehicle with a devastatingly good lineup.
Especially after they moved the Tor-M1 down to 11.0

There are examples of nations not having certain BRs like the USSR have next to no 11.3 but this is something which only applies to China I guess, we must strip vehicles of their uniqueness to force them into BR sections in which they don’t naturally fit, yes?
Even from a balance perspective, the T-80UD 478BE should be 11.0 like the T-90A either way, both vehicles have similar armour layouts, pros and cons over one another.
The T-80UD was artificially forced into 10.3 for example so it can line up with other vehicles like the 2S38 and T-Turms, why let other nations get good lineups and China not?
Gaijin should add other vehicles for China at 10.7, this is just not the right time and especially with the 478BE

If you honestly believe a T-80UD copy with the addition of generation 2 thermals and slightly better ERA cover is unique then I have nothing to tell you. Giving it the Naiza APFSDS would fundamentally make it pretty unique, a shell with outrageously good penetration at 11.0 is something I’d be more than happy to accept.
It would be Chinas best performing kinetic shell, outperforming things like the DTC10-125 and possibly 3BM60 and by a large margin (if implemented correctly) and like said prior, this would inevitably make the vehicle 11.0.
Moving it up wouldn’t also decrease it’s worth and uniqueness but actually increase it on the other hand, I have no clue how you’ve came to this conclusion.
