Ozelot SPAA BR Change

The Ozelot is an SPAA in War Thunder, featuring the FiM-92K/E Stinger Fox-2 Surface to Air missles and houses a short-range IRST detector, sitting at 9.7. Featured as a folder at the same BR of the Ozelot is the Gepard 1A2, featuring a much better radar with a substantially better range and capabilities, in addition to it’s 35mm Oerlikon KDA cannon. Essentially nobody would play the Ozelot because of the BR when you have something with autocannons and the addition Fox 2’s. I would propose a BR change of the Ozelot to 9.3.

False. The correct answer is move the Ozelot to 10.0 and move the Gepard 1A2 to 10.3.

Lol no, Ozelot has 8 missiles while Gepard has 4.
Btw the size and thermals of the Ozelot make it a good SPAA, i had a beautiful time nulifying the enemy capability of CAS thx to my good positioning in a map, they basically couldn’t spawn without me smacking their butts with Stingers.

Literally the only downside of the Ozelot is the fact that u can’t lock it’s missiles to the sun to launch them at enemy tanks like ATGMs like the Strela.

All german SPAAs from rank V to VIII should go up in BR.

Type 93 is also 9.3 so I see no reason why to say no. Would go well with Germany’s 9.3 lineup

The Type 93 is disgustingly undertiered as is.

At that point, Stingers will be basically obsolete with most SPAA’s at this BR having better Fox 2’s, such as the Roland. If it gets moved to that BR, no one would play it at all.

Decompression gotta start somewhere.

Care to explain how type 93 and ozelot are on par with rolands?

Compression is a problem at 9.3-9.7?

They aren’t and there is no reason to put the Ozelot/93 at 10.3.

So you want more compression

Although rolands are very undertiered as is, Stingers have the advantage of being FnF and better at close range.

Again, decompression needs to start somewhere. The stingers will still be incredibly strong at 10.0.

Moving them down the is the absolute worst thing we can possibly do.

There actually is a good reason. They’re far more balanced facing 10.3-11.3 planes than they are facing 8.3/7 planes.

Uptiering vehicles, by definition, is the exact opposite of compression.

Tell me a single thing the Gepard can’t do at 8.3, tell me a single thing the Roland can’t do at 10.0, tell me a single thing the IRIS-T SLM can’t do at 12.7

Maybe there are a few exceptions (FlaRakRad, Wiesel 1A4, Strela-10M2), but generally Germany has some of the most OP SPAAs ingame

Dude top tier needs to be decompressed. Explain to me how 9.3-9.7 feels compressed to you?

Right because it will do wonders against the Su-25 sure sure.

In downtiers yes. They do just fine at 9.3-9.7 and won’t do much at 10.0.

What? You’re suggesting to move the opelot and gepard up and cramming more SPAA in ranks 7 and 8. What are you saying dude

Yeah, u can just flare it and it pulls f all g’s

Strela-10M2 is Soviet, but in the German tech tree for East Germany.

Again, compression needs to start somewhere. Moving vehicles down is the worst possible course of action.

The LAV-AD does just fine. I don’t see why Ozelot would be worse, aside from general Germany main skill issue.

They will still be very competitive at 10.0.

Certainly a better option than moving them down.

So the one in the german TT is worse?
