To be fair they did have AIM-120Bs and tested them with their F-15s, which should be enough. Though I hope they’re added as an option alongside AAM-4 rather than replace them.

Show me a source where the US was using AIM120As when Japan was fielding the AAM4.
he says it was japan who was using AIM-120A wich is still wrong they tested AIM-120B’s and after the AAM-4 was created since AIM-120C wasnt being sold to another country yet

When 5th gen eventually comes, literally all European nations will have the meteor while the US and maybe Japan will get the JATM and China will receive the PL 15.
I dont really know whether thats a good sign for eventual 5th gens…
edit: doesnt really matter for Russia. They’ll die first anyway unless Gaijiggles pulls out stats from bullshitville…

That’s not my point. If this game is supposed to be balanced, then there’s no balance with the AIM120A vs the AAM4. Gaijin adds or restrictions weaponry for balance. Why is it so unreasonable to limit Japan to the AIM120A, when the AAM4 is comparable to later AIM120C variants? Gaijin fabricated the F16AJ to give Japan a competitive aircraft. Giving them the AIM120A for now is far more reasonable.

Give everyone AIM120As or MICAs or AAM4s. Gaijin is giving everyone F16s and F15s or MiG29s. Any national flavor or uniqueness is long gone.
cuz you are only thinking on yourself, think what happens, would you rather go grind F15C from America or F15J MSIP from japan if they had the exact same weaponry and capacities, for the sakes of you not suffering you are removing a weapon that was characteristic and the main weapon that plane was using, pretty selfish in my opinion, what they should do its let america use the 6 AMRAAMS it should be able to carry meanwhile japan has always been limited to 4 AAM-4’s due to their size and weight

Fake stats and performance like a variety of things in game including but not limited to the Yak 141 and M82 rounds
this was absolutely hated by a lot of japanese mains because there were much better options, and we hope it gets replaced by the thai F16 in the nearby future
The game is balanced to the extent that all nations can receive a new toy, you have to accept that some nations are better than the US in the isolated environment of war thunder, the AAM-3 and 4 are both heavily nerfed from their real life specs and still wallop any AMRAAM model up until the C-5 and C-7, so inherently the very few japan players at top tier can enjoy a versatile and capable missile instead of being cucked with another american BVR missile for their top tier jets.
Gaijin has done the right thing, and we have seen this with the magic 2, in choosing domestic weaponry which they can expand upon later down the line.

as i said that’s just selfish, every missiles has its cons and pro’s and people have to deal with it, america should be able to carry a lot more missiles than any other country except russia, but russia performs bad at longer ranges, AAM-4 has more range but, loses energy at longer ranges unlike AIM-120 and MICA-EM performs horribly at longer ranges and has barely any range and performs amazing at close ranges, that’s how it goes, and if its for the sake of you not wanting to suffer and want to make it a copy paste all across trees that removes one of the main factors on the update tbh

Mainly because they were receiving a fabricated aircraft, which A. gives other players a point to mock them for and B. makes it very hard to model and balance accurately since it simply didn’t exist outside of that brochure

there was a lot of discussion on the topic because even japan mains werent really liking the addition of a fake F16 when stuff like very early prototype of the F-2 could’ve been added wich has the normal F16 radar, or even other country options

He is simply irked at the fact that he is an american main, objectively one of the worst countries to main for air due to it’s lack of interesting and dynamic additions, the MSIP coming to game was MLU’d in 2005, putting it in the ballpark of the good eurocanard fighters, which will utterly annihilate all american competition in and out of the merge
How am I only thinking of myself? I’m not asking for foreign vehicles. I’m not asking for vastly superior weapons. I’m saying if Japan can get the AAM4, there’s no valid argument against the AIM120C, which is comparable to the AAM4 in terms of performance and service date.
The F15 could carry 6 or 8 or whatever AIM120s but it doesn’t in game. Limiting a vehicle based off performance that the game doesn’t allow makes no sense.
