The recent BR changes further revealed the state of Italy’s disadvantage at top tier. The Ariete AMV is now considered as equivalent to the M1A1 HC (which has two premium versions), as it probably should have always been. The tree now has only one true top tier tank, and an SPAA.
Italy has new MBTs on order, but they wont be delivered for a couple of years. Is there anything that could ‘plug the gap’ between then and now? Such as more sub-nations, or some whacky prototypes, demonstrators, ect?
We are waiting for NMBT, plus maybe Romanian Abrams will appear earlier, another option is 2A7HU additional armor package.
Apart from these, more Arietes and serial Centauro 2.
I think Romania could help out Italy a lot. A MiG-19, some USSR MBTs for mid-high BR and the Abrams. They should add Romanian vehicles in the gaps of the Hungarian line
The Arietes are absolutly overrated, especially the AMV. AMV belongs to BR11.7. The Ariete with Add-on Armour for the turret maybe BR11.3 but the PSO needs to be the same BR as the T90A.
Well there aren’t many options of Domestic Vehicles that could cover the Top Tier Gap, either we get the C2 Ariete (Production One not a random inexistent Prototype like with the Centauro II) as a stop gap until the NMBT/KF-51IT Panther enters service and more informations come out as well or Gaijin either takes the Romanian SepV3, the Altay from Turkey, the Spanish Leopard 2E or the already suggested Leo 2A7HU UrbOPS from Hungary.
My hopes is if the C2 Ariete comes it doesn’t get butchered like they did with the baseline model, but like said we don’t have many options (we Italians)
