I would like to suggest a simple extra option as a small QoL change.
The ability to aim and shoot through the commander sight is very usefull, and I’m glad it’s in the game. What I don’t really understand though is why this isn’t active at all times, as there are very few scenarios where when using the commander sight you wouldn’t want this active. Currently in the game, at the start of every battle, every time you spawn in a new ground vehicle, you have to manually set this to ‘active’ again.
What I’d like to suggest is a toggleable switch in the settings menu to have the ‘commander aim mode’ activate automatically upon spawning in, so you don’t have to do it manually yourself ever single time. Ofcourse you would still be able to switch between ‘aim mode’ and seperate commander sight the same exact way you can now, you’ll just start on ‘active’, instead of inactive.
Again, a very small QoL change, but one that would go a long way considering you will notice it every single match you play with vehicles that have commander overide. God bless!

I mean, its good for situational awareness because. the binos aren’t good enough for long range surveillance.

For vehicles that get commander thermals it can be quite usefull, especially on larger maps. Also afaik, you can still skip the commander override delay when your gunner gets taken out if you have commander override active beforehand.

It’s super useful in all missile carriers as you can guide missiles through the commanders sight. That means you can stay even more in cover but still be able to fire at the opponents.
Some vehicles also have better thermals in commanders sights so to be able to fire through those helps that vehicle as well.
I practically activate that setting every time i spawn in a vehicle just so that it is already on if i need it.

Gunner sight
Commander sight
For some vehicles this help A LOT, some vehicles have newer generation thermals in the commander sight (for example a couple of the Leopards) and the sight is a lot higher up (best example of both of these is the Strv 122B PLSS, it has gen 1 gunner sight and gen 3 commander sight and SUPER tall commander sight that is also extendable with key bind).
It’s extra useful for light tanks that have IR guided missiles like the Spikes (Puma VJTF or CV90 Mk.IV) as you can just pop the commanders sight over a hill and show almost nothing else and still get a lock and fire the missile.
While others It’s less helpful, due to the commander sight not having thermals (Like the BMP-2M) or not being practical (like the 2S6 that has no commander thermals and the missiles can’t do much against tanks anyway).
