Guys am i the only one who thinks that the oplot should receive a buff because its so random and sometime the shell just go straight in th midle betwen the duplet or it just hits 1 pieace of nizh or it doesnt even explode when being hit and why the pieces of duplet are so far away from each other its so stupid why would anybody put the era so far away from each other

Thats how it should be
- Oplot need a rework
- Oplot doesnt need a rework

To be fair they should also give it better chemical protection too.

True but other than ATGMs, no one really uses heat shells at top tier.
KE is more of a problem as DM53 is still able to go through the UFP of the oplot while t90m UFP stops dm53…

To the 24% who voted no, what is your logic? I’m curious to hear.

It was 24%, but then it updated

i do not personaly have the oplot in game but i tried it on a friend account and the only upgrade i can find for this tank compared to the Type 10 is the better turret rotation, the turret armor is pretty good still it have a lot of armor hole the hull has a 11.0 protection lvl and the BTA-4 round should perform better

I want to add more to the side ERA issue. The duplet era is not yawing APFSDS rounds the same as Relikt. It seems to be set to only around 25-27 degrees which is wrong.

A paper tested when the projectile velocity is 1.5 km/s, the intercept distance(distance between the Linear Shaped Charge plate and target plate) is 10cm, and the intercepting velocity (how fast the LSC was moving after it was set off) is 1.5 km/s, 2.0 km/s and 2.5 km/s. The intercept angle is the angle between the rod and the LSC and the attack angle is the angle at which the rod hits the target plate so the angle between the axis of the rod and the velocity vector of the rod. Even at an intercept angle of 40 degrees the attack angle is 4-6 degrees. The oplot-t has a track side length of 57 cm so techincally the intercept distance is more than 57 cm so if it was 4-6 degrees for 10 cm it would be even more past 57 cm at 40 degrees of interception.
It seems that Gaijin may have chosen an angle of around 25 degrees based on test footage but choosing an angle from a just one test is just so wrong.

it’s not the oplot that needs a rework but rather ERA since literally all ERA in game underperforms heavily.
I have a big post on that if you want see how much ERA actually protects

Not really, devs made duplet ERA work differently than kontak and relikt in terms of KE underperformance and yawing and stacks

I mean, ERA does not have as much protection as is stated in game. For example contact 5 has ~400mm (stated in x-ray, no angle is stated either) of chemical protection but at a 0 degree angle it only has about 200, same thing with kinetic protection. Only some ERA has as much protection as it should, i’ve tested all ERA in game (i think) and it was only french ERA and the ERA on the m60a3 TTS
Also, technically different apfsds shells should have different effectiveness against different era but that’s not modeled either.

oplot is just DOA. it should be 10.7 with that ufp
