Looks like that armor is finished. Bit disappointing.
More than bit… it’s a huge disappointment.
Somehow, a tank with more RHA and more heavy ERA than T-80U has worse armor than it.
I should have seen this coming.

Did people seriously think Japan would get a straight upgrade over BVM at basically the same BR ?
But on the ru-forum, “patriots” will continue to laugh and support bias because they will not be able to admit their wrongness for political reasons.

People did not await the “straight upgrade” over BVM at the same BR. People waited for a BVM sidegrade that would also be upgrade in terms of armor and yolo’ing over Type 10 present in the same TT.
Oplot should’ve never been upgrade in the first place. It should have traded round and some of its acceleration for better maneuvreability (better reverse speed + neutral steering) and better armor protection (at least front glacis, at best all-around).
Instead, what we have is legit T-80U with thermals (that should be Gen 2 in fact), worse acceleration but better reverse gear, and somewhat better side protection while being at 12.0 and facing DM53/M829A2 and alikes 24/7.
I, at very least, expected it to be sidegrade to BVM with what I mentioned above, instead BVM’s 3BM60 (what used to be the worst top tier APFSDS at BR in the game) just front pens UFP from like 100-200m away, whereas Oplot isn’t doing that.

It’s strange really gaijin dont mind nato tanks like Leopards, STRVs and Abrams to be better then russians tanks but if the tank is based on russian/soviet design like ZTZ99a or thr Oplot for example they seem to dont want to add the full capabilities of the tank to matched what ever russians have but make it slightly worse atleast

There is multiple reliable sources not just from Ukraine or Thailand but western sources also if someone here really dig deep they might find american testing out the ERA since they bought some for testing.
ZTZ99A reload was nerfed due to “balancing reason” same goes for the new shell because its will make the 3BM60 looks weak.
I wouldn’t say the Oplot would be a better T80 BVM at the same BR but trade’s the mobility for armour (which is what i was hoping for) but now its a glorified T80UD at 12.0.
