You simply can’t create a precedent of that size and get away with it.
Both Koreas being in a single tree would open up Ukraine going to USSR.
true what side is that tree even on is ground sb?? red or bluefor?
Since most people don’t read the full post, I’ll quote to relevant part of my article here as a response.
Admittedly, there’s already a case in the game where vehicles from two former enemies coexist in one tree — China and Taiwan. However, that situation is very different. Before 1945, Taiwan was part of Japan, and the ROC government only relocated there after 1949. So truly Taiwanese vehicles are quite rare — only post-1949 American-based designs like the CM11 and M41D. Vehicles such as the M3A3 or M4A4, which fought during the Second Sino-Japanese War, are authentically Chinese, not Taiwanese.
For example, in the Chinese ground tree, out of about 90 vehicles, only around 13 actually come from Taiwan — less than 15%. Taiwan can be considered a sub-tree of China, but even without Taiwanese vehicles, the Chinese tree stands perfectly fine on its own. That’s not the case for the so-called Korea tree, where both North and South contribute about half each.
You are so wrong that, as they say around here, “Bless your heart.”
“Taiwan” is the remanent of the Republic of China, which was China entirely in the 30s and 40s. Which means almost all Chinese vehicles would be “Taiwanese” since the Communists that became the PRC were an insurgent army that had no need for armor until after the civil war. The Chinese TT would need to start at Rank III without the “Taiwanese” part of it.
Technically…
Koreans don’t care. It’s a video game.
United Korea tech tree is fine for rank 1 - 8 having over 100 unique vehicles combined.
Ukraine should (all post Soviet republics makes sense imo), I think Gaijin planned for this too but the current conflict put a stop to it.
Sim needs a massive rework.
The GDR and BDR are on the same Blufor side currently whilst the ROC is on redfor.
I don’t know. Japan already has multiple confirmed subtrees, there is no need for South Korea at all. It is just unnecessary.
The combined Korean tree plan was also very well received from Korean players, so there shouldn’t really be any issues with it. It’s not the first time a split nation was combined in game either (Germany, China)
I think stuff should happen regardless of politics, we’re playing a game after all.
USA has more than enough vehicles to fill its entire tree, both in service and prototypes/experimentals.
Same with USSR. Not needed. If NK would to be a subtree, I’d think China would be the better option.
Multiple times in your comment you refer to USSR Nation as “Russia”.
“as both nations are fighting Ukraine”
USSR is fighting Ukraine? Or Russia?
“and North Korea for USSR / Russia.”
Oh so its interchangeable?
You seem pretty adamant that the Soviet Tree’s successor is Russia, but also want to say that Ukraine should be added because the tree is Soviet. But you refer to Soviet tree as Russian?
Singapore will not be an exclusive subtree. China will get a couple Singaporean vehicles at best. Turkey isn’t a subtree of Italy but Italy has a couple vehicles, for example.
Even after Gaijin already clarified, there are still people who whine and throw a tantrum like this. Absolutely childish behaviour.
Mini trees suck
even after the Gaijin confirmed to add Korea as a standalone tt like China, I can’t believe that people are still yapping for a Korean subtree for Japan. neverthless of the flag changing, we just want a whole techtree for the Korean vehicles. considering the standalone Korean techtree terrible is just your tought
most of us only hate kim jung un, and our playerbase has been urging for the Unified Korean techtree for years
Were East Germany and West Germany two hostile countries? I don’t understand what about the situation here in Asia is unacceptable.
You’re absolutely right — but since East and West Germany reunified and West Germany inherited all of East Germany’s equipment, that kind of awkward situation no longer exists.
However, the situation between North and South Korea is very different. The two countries still maintain a high level of tension and are technically still at war.
There’s always the possibility of conflict breaking out, and there are no realistic signs of reunification in the foreseeable future.
That’s what makes a combined “Korea” tech tree feel awkward and somewhat out of place.
How about not adding NK at all? Their air force is completely C&P and wouldn’t add anything new to the game, while there’s no NK player so no one is asking for representation.
One day it will happen, East Asia will become a region of peace. I think the way gaijin treat the Chinese tree and the Korean Peninsula tree is correct — favoring peace and unity.
A unified Korean Technology Research makes perfect sense. Like the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of China, the DPRK and the Republic of Korea are founded on the principle of “one people, one nation.” I sincerely hope that the developers will ignore all the peculiarities and all the vocal opponents of this idea and proceed as planned by creating a unified Korean Technology Research.
