For everybody posting about sim battles… yeah, that is a problem. But it’s been a problem long before this point. There needs to be a solution for it and dividing up nations that work better together seems like one of the worst ways to solve it.
Does Korea uses heavily modified Japanese tank or weapons purchased from Japan? Heaviest japanese weapon that Korea used is probably the Ki-9 and leftover Type 92 MG, duh.
Have you seen two friendly countries building one of the most secured borders with thousands of active military personnel present at any time ?
They waged war in the 50s and still haven’t improved their relations.
Please study these topics before posting, I’m not Korean but I believe that a lot of people believe that an unification of the Korean region in a pacific way (considering the Korean War is a armed mean to unify both countries) is better option for peace in that region, and War Thunder adding both countries in the same tech tree as “United Korean tech tree” which I believe is a way to promote this more peaceful way and in my opinion an opportunity to add both countries’ most unique vehicles to the game.
These nations are in a war with effort to unite the peninsula under one single flag, which at the same time there are efforts to unique peacefully, it will, unfortunately create bad scenarios in ground simulator battles, which at this point in time with Taiwan and East Germany is more than obvious that ground simulator battles next some working to facilitate a more realistic gameplay and reduce the amount of ‘spies’ and unintentional friendly-fire, which will go much more deeper than that, while post-war Japan exists while it can still match against their post-war western allies while having in-war World War Two Japan in their team.
This book I’ve attached above discuss the possibility of reunification of the Korean peninsula and efforts of third parties to keep its divided state, it’s an interesting read as it’s obviously based from the North Korean perspective while will apply more biased opinions such as:
In October 1949, Syngman Rhee, encouraged by the US, said: We cannot but put an end to north-south division by war; reunification can be achieved only by occupying north Korea.
I don’t mind a United Korea but not as the next nation, Israel had it’s issues for a long time now and only just gotten better within the year. So yeah I still say why not for it to be independent but just not now after Israel
Not really. Both (err… all four) are functionally independent countries and military systems. Esp. from WT’s just military hardware, sans politics, perspective.
About the only difference is that only one side’s people who are going to care about both Koreas being in the same tree are South Koreans and busy bodies in other countries (mainly China). Since Norks are lucky to have electricity in their collectivized hovels much less wasting The State’s time on bourgeois video games.
The situation with China is different — even without Taiwanese vehicles, China still has enough vehicles to sustain the entire tech tree. I’ve already explained this in detail in my article, so I won’t repeat it here.
