How so?
Trust me, the Marder is way worse. The BMP is underwhelming but playable. The Marder A1- is just crap
ill take your word for it until i start grinding germany
I prefer the Marder with decent atgm then the BMP-1 with derp cannon and atgm hitting the ground when firing from hill postion. The Marder survival change is higher then BMP-1 when people using they 12.7mm machinegun just to kill your BMP-1 easy.
I got a nuke in it once (PBV 501)
PBV 501 is way better than the BMP
In my entire time spading the BMP, I never once got killed by a machine gun. I can see why you would prefer the Marder, but are you referring to the 1A3 or the A1- because its the A1- I think is bad. The A3 gets DM63 which is an excellent round for what it is: meanwhile, the A1- is stuck with DM43 which is a tiny apcr round that is terrible in every way.
Wow, the gun without the missile is better…
well, this one ain’t the best experience
I find it’s actually a pretty good vehicle. Pretty mobile and with a low profile, decently armoured for an IFV. The Konkurs are good ATGMs though the limited ammunition is annoying. While low velocity, the 73mm has very high penetration- I find that below 8.7 the only better IFV cannon is the Bradley’s Bushmaster.
Use it either at close range where the low velocity doesn’t matter much and the ATGM can be essentially dumb fired, or at long range as an ATGM sniper.
As for the missile drop, I haven’t noticed anything beyond what other ATGMs experience. I think the problem partially is that low profile. Just aim up slightly before correcting the missile aim to get a bit more height at launch.
When you put it 4 BR steps lower it is, considering the Konkurs is mostly useless anyway except for follow-up shots
I am talking relative to BR placement.
It’s at 6.7, so it’s facing tiger II’s and Jagdtigers on the regular. Yeah, it’s good, but it’s not as awesome as everyone makes it out to be.
It is easier to get into an advantageous position at 6.7 as the mobility is better than average at that Br. As you mentioned, the PBV fights a lot of slow targets like the Tiger 2 and Jagdtiger that are very easy to flank. At 8.0 the mobility is just average and things will frequently beat you to the flanks.
But the BMP-1 is a tank support/infantry support vehicle. To play it to its best ability it should be played as such.
Its good with its two hit combo and engine that eats projectiles.
Yes, my point is that you can simply flank most targets with the PBV and deal with them easily, which is not true with the BMP-1 as you are forced into a support role. You could play the PBV in a support role effectively, but support is not your only efficient option as it is with the BMP.
I would said both versions that Marder 20mm gun is useless for for tank battle is the stock atgm on the Marder excellent compared to the BMP-1 stock atgm that need manuel guidance.
