Yeah, I’m worried about that as well. My idea now is that at some point I’ll add a feedback and update topic that’s linked in the suggestion so devs can see and access it after it’s passed.
But I’m also not fully sure about the rules behind this and I haven’t asked yet.
This event wouldn’t take much time to make. It re-uses old models that are already in the game. The only thing that has to be made is the interface for the actual event
I agree with the idea but not really the method.
Rather they should make vehicles and cosmetics a thing you can purchase with currency obtainable via battle pass progression, standard events, monthly specials (i.e. doing the challenges intended for pfp now) and at purchasable for whales.
i.e. if you get max currency in a single BP that should be enough for up to a single IV event vehicle. An idea is also to give the player the ability to scrap an event vehicle they haven’t activated for 70-80% of what its cost in this currency would be.
That is also a cool way to bring back old event vehicles and cosmetics. It would not force people to grind yet another event, instead they earn it through existing onces.
But I doubt Gaijin would do something like that since it would reward people “for free”. The reason I think my proposal works really well is because it’s got lots of aspects Gaijin can use that earn money with, whilst also not punishing players too much.
Absolutely, this should be implemented, people will probably love it. I do have a concern because of Gaijin’s stake in this all because they will stand to lose monetarily. The marketplace will certainly be the biggest loser in all of this because the prices will probably go down on average, since this will be a reliable alternate way (not lootboxes) to access the vehicles that sellers offer on the marketplace, and thus the prices would now be set by the effort one needs to put into a vehicle in order for them to attain it. Simply put: Is the IS-7 REALLY worth 2000 euros if everyone could in theory get it in 2 years for free? Maybe some people would put down 2000 euros just to circumvent playing the game twice per year during a set period but vehicles not locked behind others that can be accessed directly with currently high market prices (eg: BMD-4 as listed here) are sure to come crashing down. Albeit, the market surely isn’t the primary way Gaijin’s money and high priced purchases are not happening all the time, the sellers will probably be angry that the change made the marketplace functionally obsolete.
If Gaijin’s main focus is to keep the marketplace mostly intact with the introduction of an event like this, then they would have to add a lot more requirements to unlock the expensive rare event vehicles. Which to be honest would be easy to do, just make more event vehicle connections. Techtree or premium connections as pointed out in Note 4: (Middle right) would also go a long way to help maintain rarity of certain vehicles.
Hell, at the moment I made connections that made sense. Same vehicle platform, or part of the same lineage. But you could also make connections to unrelated vehicles. Take the E-100 for example, you can connect that to the Leopard 2A7V, and now you need to unlock the very top tier vehicle to get the E-100.
The event is very adaptable, so Gaijin can change and tweak the settings as they see fit.
