Only Ah-64E V6 should be able to get the CIRCM?

How come all Ah-64Es got the CIRCM? All the sources I came across suggest that it’s only installed on V6 platforms so I can understand the V6s getting them as they are “compatible” .

But for the V4s (indonesian) and V1s (Taiwanese - technically a 64D block III)? Don’t they need major upgrades for them to be upgraded to the V6 standard and shouldn’t this fall outside of them getting the CIRCM?

If not, why was there so much push back against the F-15GE getting dual racks, or other aircraft getting BOL pods?

If it is technically capable of mounting it then it can mount it in game

In short: because they’re pretty much unplayable at 13.0 without it.

mounting and compatibility are two different things. If that was the case the devs would’ve considered giving the JAGMs to the all top tier apaches.

They have, all 64Es have JAGM even if they never used them

by the time you are 1m off the ground you are being radar locked and several IRIS-T/Buk/9X/CAMM ERs are flying at you

yea i agree, that was kind of an odd take considering there are many instances of vehicles being able to mount things but gaijin denied them, since they were never used in service or historically accurate enough for them

most of those will completely miss you if you just hover, the only thing able to kill you are ir missiles, which you can flare if you see fired at you

dircm makes you completely immune to any ir spaa in the game, which i personally find just pretty unfun and boring

can’t they make LDIRCM accurate though. If they did, it’ll be tremendously less effective.

it also doesnt help that they massively nerfed the ircm of the modern aa systems, the 9x and iris t should have much stronger irccm to destroy anything with dircm. but they think adding iir would be too strong

i dont have top tier helis but ive played helis without any flares at 13.0 and gotten multiple kills without much effort

ive fought against helis with the iris t and buk constantly, theyre insanely hard to kill even when they have no dircm, just chaff and flares easily decoy most missiles

I too have fought Helis flareless at top tier once I even launched a Vikhr and killed the whole enemy team with 1 missile source: dude trust me

if you need dircm to make a heli playable at 13.0 with 16 fire and forget missiles then im afraid thats a tragic skill concern

Not necessarily. This is what I really harped on last patch because all this does is set an inconsistent standard. Just like with other vehicles there exists different versions. So far there is currently 5 versions of the 64E

  • V1 (originally named the 64D Block III)
  • V4
  • V4.5
  • V6
  • V6.5

V6 is where JAGM integration fully began. V4.5 allowed V1s and V4s to be fully compatible with the JAGM.

However neither the Taiwanese and Indonesians have received upgrades to V4.5. I’ve read somewhere (need to double check), that the Indonesians recently ordered 64Es but it doesn’t say what version. I wouldn’t be suprised if it’s V4.5 or V6s.
