This depends on whether interference is an issue. In this situation, it is more advisable to use 2.4GHz instead of 5 GHz. Given the info the problem is likely to be attenuation of the signal rather than inteference. In which case, 2.4GHz is significantly superior.
I did not expect all my fellow WT players to be nerds as well
You should check your shower head for electricity leakage. Not only that can screw up electronic stuff in your house, but it’s genuenly dangerous.
imo
This is basic school education lol
Shower and gaming is incompatible, you can only pick one option.
But as others said, you should run experiments and see if shower actually messes up your connection. Ping utility, speedtests etc.
Why don’t you shower first before playing the game?
I am
B-but what if its a Water cooled PC :D
Not short waves or anything like that but if you use an electric shower it could still indirectly cause lag spikes if it messes with your wifi or power for a second. Those things draw a ridiculous amount of power when they turn on.
ah ha! We found the culprit of the lag spikes in War Thunder
Dude you have to stay a dirty bum. Save SA, every time you take a shower - whole server has like 75% pl.
I discovered, it really was this as my house’s wiring probably is not upgraded to the post 1990s 220v standard
Thx
Yes, this is unfortunately a fault of the game itself.
Majority of the packets are delivered via the pipes in your home. So when you are turning on your shower you are actually redirecting some of those packets away from your PC into the shower.
The solution is pretty simple, just dont shower. Ever.
What also helps is if you go lower to the ground. Since the higher you live the longer itll take the packets to reach you. To have optimal gaming experience and connection i would suggest looking for a possible housing within a basement or a cellar. If theres nothing around you available to rent out, you could try your parents house.
So to optimize everything, the best approach you can do to have solid stable connection is to live in your parents basement (financially viable) and not shower (to prevent packet loss):
It could also be an issue of insufficient RAM, id suggest downloading more.
Good luck and have fun o7

I don’t think I’m qualified to answer this question. Try a university.
Engineer student here, showers are very bad for your internet connection, this is the real reason why pro gamers don’t ever take showers
Spoiler
On a more serious note I don’t see any reason why it would have any notable effect. Water does disturb radiowaves, but unless you’re straight up in the shower with your pc there shouldn’t be any noticeable change.
And please don’t go in the shower with your pc, it’s bad for the electronics and can be quite dangerous for you
Hands down bro, actual peak.

This is the funniest War Thunder post I have seen to date.
