It depends on a lot of different factors.
I got mine used and I have had 0 issues with it since 2017.
But as long as you’re consistently cleaning the computer, getting the dust off, NOT running it 24/7, you should get a good amount of time from it. Provided the GPU tech doesn’t skyrocket in that timeframe lol.

Honestly popping off the cooling shroud and replacing the paste and pads might fix the issue. There should be youtube videos for it, BestBuy (or something like that) will have the paste and pads.

And turn up the power limit and fan speed
You can try heating the GPU die. Sometimes it fixes artifacts and apply some new thermal paste. You can also undervolt your GPU, that should reduce the temp.

Try the J-7E in sim. There’s a guy in my squadron that regularly gets 10+ kills in sim using the J-7E.
