As an avid air battle enjoyer I am kind of jealous that ground battle players are able to have special achievements and gameplay mechanics that people who like air battles more aren’t able to get. Would having a nuke mechanic where anyone who is able to get 7 or 8 kills quickly enough can spawn in a nuclear strike aircraft and bomb one of the airfields be a good gameplay mechanic? It would only be for player aircraft kills included and not AI. I do not think this would affect the game mode drastically as it would require someone with a lot of skill and effort in a quick amount of time to be able to pull this off.
Would be a funny mechanic if bomber could nuke the memory airfield after destroying all the enemy bases. Would gives bombers a greater purpose as well as a larger incentive to stop them.
(And regardless, I feel like adding the genie missile is a much needed and hilarious potential addition hehe)
bring back the days of the S21 headon nuke but now as an actual nuke
Fighting in a nuclear explosion is so cool. The map of aerial combat is much larger than that of land warfare, and a nuclear bomb cannot end the battle
yes it would be funny
the problem: have you tried flying a bomber across the entire map in air battles?
the AirRB Nuke has to work different than it does in ground to function
The issue is, at least for air RB where the majority of air players are, there isn’t respawning and so if you’ve got enough kills for a nuke the match is already effectively over, and you definitely wouldn’t have time to fly across the map before the round ends
having an ICBM come out and nuke an airfield would be cool ash, probably only the smaller one though. People still do need somewhere safe to land.
the nuke animation is so good it’s a shame that we only get to see it for a couple seconds every drop in grb
This used to be how it was, and still is possible on some lower BR games (Battle of Britain/Dover Strait map off top of my head).
It would be cooler to have this type of gameplay present on all maps, and adding nukes to the mix would be so fun!
