Pretty sure its only 5 and 10 on the f4e

not in this event it isnt lmao

my mistake, I was thinking of the fact the ml shares a radar with the m, not the mld. that being said why does it matter at all when the f4j’s radar is still so much better?

read please click the spoiler and read

the MLD has over the ML

1 upgraded engine
2 better avonics
3 better stronger wings with dogtooth extensions

Spoiler

In the dawn of the 1980s, the refinements to the MiG-23 airframe in the MiG-23ML and MLA variants were deemed “still insufficient” and too difficult to use in combat against the latest 4th generation aircraft. As a result, until the early MiG-29 could have its early production issues ironed out, an “ultimate” refinement of the MiG-23 was ordered, based on the upgrades applied to the ML and MLA variants previously and incorporating new technology from the then new MiG-29. The new plane had a complete overhaul to not only its avionics, but the airframe as well. The airframe was lightened even further over the ML “lightweight” variant, the wings were upgraded to the new strengthened “Type 4” wing with the “dogtooth” wing root for increased AoA at higher speeds, and were also given new slats and vortex generators to increase low speed performance. And to top off the flight performance upgrades, the powerful R-35F-300 engine providing extra thrust over older MiG-23 models was installed. The radar was replaced with the brand new N-008 radar, featuring electronic countermeasure resistance, vertical scan “dogfight” modes and far greater range over previous Sapphire-23 models. The avionics suite was completely overhauled with new smaller and lighter electronics, including new GCI and autopilot systems, multiple new new safety systems, and most importantly, the major upgrade from the previous SPO-10 RWR to the new SPO-15L “Breyoza” RWR system from the MiG-29. The reinforcement and lightening of the airframe resulted in the MiG-23MLD, when in the hands of experienced pilots in Maryi airbase being able to beat even the new MiG-29 regularly in hit-and-run dogfights. Almost all MLDs were rebuilt from older ML and MLA aircraft, with the exception being the 62 export MLDs sold to Bulgaria and Syria, being the last brand new single-seat MiG-23 airframes to roll off the production line.

You’re supposed to use ARMs against them, they’re there so the players can test ARMs against the AA

no, they haven’t change the radar. I’m saying the pd doesn’t matter because the f4j exists so i dont really know what youre in shock about.

and considering how you were just complaining about how much better the radar is compared to the f4j and f4s, and the fact that those other stats don’t matter because of the sams, how does this hurt my argument?

My tests has concluded that they get intercepted :P

Try doing it like this, helped me a lot and made me realize Gaijin really wants you to engage them with ARMs

cause you said the best option was to remove the F4J/S even the MIG-23MLD is way better than a regular ML if you remove americas best model you should also remove russias

instead just add the ML as the standard vehicle as that would be fair against the F4E

Balance is a surface level issue? How so? “Key” is more like it.

If the balancing of ___ is off–especially badly off–then the popularity of ____ craters. If its popularity craters, so does interest in ___ or a mode that was fashioned around ____.

Balancing SAMs is an absolutely crucial issue if you want something like an SEAD mode to come along. As it stands, interest in an SEAD mode is likely waning (at best) as players get tired of not being able to practically do SEAD (AI SAMs slaughter them so easily and even annihilate ARMs fired at the SAMs (utterly common)) as well as getting tired of not being able to engage other players as well (because the AI kills them).

Anyone who dismisses the significance of balance in game development is singing the death knell for their given project (in this case a SEAD mode) and its hopes. You’d best reconsider, fast.

you should not because the usa teams just have to attack the buk telar to regain their advantage, that is my entire point you have missed. it should be up to the players to create ways to come up with their losses, and not cry to gaijin to change the game so they don’t have any.

SEAD is completely possible, you just have to do it right

So i’m meant to do a 180 and distract their missiles rather than get into cover?

the SPAA of russia side is same as the american we just have hawks instead the BUK is just as good

and even if the spaa is bad just buff the AA instead of making unfair teams

Yes, if you get in cover they’ll turn their radar off because they can’t see you anymore or focus on the missile

the balance of this gamemode doesnt matter because for one that balance everyone is talking about is just the balance of a few planes as they are in air rb. and for 2 because me and plenty others are having no issues attacking sams. you are saying we should dismiss this event because the community is shit at sead and i think that is very dumb considering what we stand to gain

eh, my experience is that they’ll track me trough cover and hit me :D

they do i have video proof

Doesn’t have to be a 180, can be a 90 deg turn. If they stop tracking you, they’ll engage your ARM instead.

SEAD can actually be made harder by teammates doing things wrong. If they fire ARM’s early, or catch the AA’s attention and die before your arm hits, the ARM might lose lock or get shot down.

i’ll give it a shot, A-6E or A-7E best for this?

i found a7e, you get the missiles and retain energy better to dodge with
