Nuclear Thunder!

exactly, they are great at blowing up idiots
great for ganking unsuspecting enemies since the range is quite generous

Buks are now invisible to RWR, they can shoot even if you’re under their radars and guide too much, Osas are still broken and the US team in the lower bracket is always getting stomped. Remove the Su-24M or give us the F-111F

You don’t need to be a strategist who played this game mode, but you need to play a strategy

Yes, they should add a version of the F-111 with a nuclear payload for the USA to be the counterpart to Su-24. Trade acceleration (TF30 moment) for top speed with the USA.

Idk what im doing wrong. Enemy AA is locking me through mountains, i cant dodge, i cant notch, i cant flare/chaff, i cant do anything really, every single time im about to bomb a base AA pulls something so crazy i cant even describe it. One time, i was going around them completely, by the ocean, i never had any radar ping, any lock warning, any launch warning, an AA missile just came out of nowhere and shot me down. Like what am i supposed to do. Every single time i spawn a nuke its the same garbage over and over.

Imagine being Gaijin and being forced to gimp RU side by nerfing the absolute damn out of the US side. Marvelous

I personally find the F4E a far better 30KT nuke carrier than the Su-24.

I’ve never got shot down by SAMs doing a CCRP bomb-toss F4E (5KT, 30 KT).

I’ve never got shot down by SAMs doing a CCRP bomb-toss with the MIG-23 (5KT).

Su-24 though? Can only do it if I know the SAMS were killed or distracted otherwise I have a frustratingly high chance at failing to dodge all the missiles that decided I must now die.

bs, the Su-24 is untouchable by enemy jets thanks to its MAWS and can reliably reach and destroy any airfield

Did you play today? Get shot down nomather by the OSA. Russia ofc gets the AA that never misses while the US AA don’t do shit at all.

  1. Fly off to the side to dodge enemy jets
  2. Line up with the green line
  3. Watch map
  4. Pull-up when in same gridsquare in a parabolic arc-ish.
  5. Immediately after dropping the bomb turn 90 degrees and start doing loops then go home

Perfectly doable with Mig-23 and F4E.

Su-24 gets missiled.

I had the bad luck of getting my F-4E locked (if you spawn on a base that gets destroyed and J out before the base is destroyed, you cannot use that aircraft in the rest of the mission) and was forced to use the A-7 for the nuclear payload, it was horrible.

I’d 10000% rather have the F-111F or even F-111A over the A-7. If you don’t have a supersonic fighter or ARMs you really can’t even engage the SAM systems. A-7 is not viable for this job.

As for dealing with SAMS, my issue has mostly been US players seeing the “Su-24” marker and frothing at the mouth trying to shoot me down, or getting trolled by the 40m trees having awful hitboxes.

in a match rn, a Su-24 just nuked an airport while being undisturbed

Try again

This is valid. I havent even touched the A7s beyond checking them out for a single spawn.

Giving a back-up if the thing gets locked is fair but I stand by the notion that the F4E is more capable than the SU-24 for doing the “I’ll dodge the sams that want me dead” dance after a bomb toss.

F4E with nuke > Su-24 with nuke. The only advantage the Su has is MAWS, which isn’t 100% reliable for some reason.

against SARH missiles probably, but it’s the best against 9Ls

This is what I do with my Mig-23 and F4E vs the SAMs.

SU-24 I try to do the same but I don’t have enough energy to pull it off (I think that’s why it fails?)

Su24 with full nuke loadout, R-60M, 2 droptanks, max fuel is going 1360kmh on the deck. How fast is the Phantom? MAW is usually keeping all IR threats away (you cant be surprised either). Radar missiles are no issue, since preset US jets can’t get a lock low alt.

You just need to avoid guns, which isn’t hard. Also, if you want to headshot the central forward airfield, you need alot fuel for the long way around the flanks into the back of enemy frontline. Su24 with droptanks does the job. F-4E nuker won’t do it, except you switch off AB.

With the Su-24, I like to play it like a high-altitude bomber; it suits its look better. I climb to 14,000 or 15,000 altitude, drop the nuke, and come back down while enjoying my coffee.

i think the US side should get the F-4J with 7E-2’s as a preset plane
also maybe the f-111 as 30kt nuke carrier
