I hate to sound like a broken record, but I kinda wish there was a Simulator difficulty for this.
Could you imagine flying along and then BAM, taken out by a missile your RWR can’t detect or endless missile launch sounds from your RWR
I get that that would be a bit much at this low of a BR, so hopefully it comes to top tier as well (with accompanying strategic and/or stealth bomber/fighter-bomber aircraft).
I’m primarily biased because this is the first map that actually has space to fly up and get up to (or close enough) to your airframe’s maximum operating speed and thus everything including how your missiles perform will be better, you have more space to dodge missiles, etc, etc.
Still happy that this will/could be a permanent game mode, though. It, along with Infantry, has insane potential and could see an increase in average player counts (I believe we broke the record again? Crazy).
ALSO can’t wait for the more modern variants of both strategic bombers in this event. Dumb bombs/nukes are cool, but could you imagine simultaneously dropping 10+ JDAMs on a single AA or all JSOW/JASSM at an airfield? Insanity. I’m not knowledgeable about what the Tu-95 carries outside of the humongous FAB-9000, but I imagine that too carries Russian cruise missiles? Either way, it took a while but we are eating good.

because it dosn’t have PD… only you can lock planes above you without ground behind them…

You realise this is also being played by players that have never touched jets? and they are forced to learn so much in such short time to get the new bombers

I fly 4.0 Air SB 70% of the time, 5.3/5.7 25% of the time. The remaining 5% is spread across other prop brackets.
I don’t fly air RB.
I only flew jets mostly “I want to unlock them to land on carriers” up until F8E crusader which is… pretty far from what this event is about.
I can… do just OK?
My last match I got 4743 score.
All it took was:
- Watch youtube tutorial on CCRP
- Ask people on the discord I joined for some advice
- Watch youtube tutorial on radar and radar defence.

oh so the solution is to give a completely identical aircraft except for the RWR, when the focus point is related to how it is objectively better at dealing with aircraft compared to the F-4E

The way the event is , that’s not an issue … i played both sides.
SAMs limiting you that much that the only thing is that R-24R is better missile, which again you might have to abort because SAMs fk you up anyway.
Also the stupid 23s radar seriously can’t lock crap if not in MTI mode even if the target is straight ahead of it…

I mean, flying and operating the jets can be learnt but noobs are not used to such fast paced combat and your ears constantly filled with RWR and MAWS going crazy all the time which can be overcome but the learning curve is just too high
I would personally like if they gave a better Phantom variant it would all be good, not being able to use your radar missiles is too much of a nerf
The gameplay now is slow-paced, IMO. It still would be so at top tier, thanks to the bigger map.
Learning curve isn’t that much steeper than what everyone is experiencing now. The only difference is your aircraft is much better than what’s on offer here.
ECM is not a nerf lmao, that’s how it works especially against missiles with no home-on jam capability.
Wait, I don’t mean ECM, I mean to say atleast a good radar like PD so that you can atleast lock on enemies who are flying near ground but not multipathing or deploying CM
F-4E radar is a pain in the ass to get a lock on enemy
It’s definietly a nerf when you are against an aircraft that has PD radar

That’s just a realistic implementation of its radar, though. Not a nerf.
The other aircraft with PD radars are basic at best. They’re not the best of its class at all (unless it’s the Yak-141, but you rarely see those) and still struggle with chaff or simply detecting something flying right at them.
I know but carrying around your 4 radar missiles as dead weight isn’t too fun yk
